Possible return to WoD gear for PVP

They are considering getting back to the double-ilvl system for PVP gear, like it was in WoD.

I made a thread here:

“Considering returning to PVP gear from WoD” - YES! DO THIS! - Community / General Discussion - World of Warcraft Forums (blizzard.com)

I guess it’s good for rated players, bad for everybody else. My heroic raid gear will turn into pumpkin. How will casuals benefit from it?
Mythic raiders are generally too tired and not so interested to do premades. They raid like 4/7. Glads premades are much more common. So glads will be stronger, everybody else will be even weaker?

Not bad, not good, idk, i’d preffer more templates. But if this only 1 suggestion form devs to bring more equallity i’m not against it. I’m always against any advantage in PvP - this is killing any “nature” of PvP in games. Especially nowdays when ESports everywhere and games not only for players with no real life.

What??? It’s good for absolutely everyone except the few snowflakes who do both high-level PVP and high-level PVE because they actually like it and want to have an advantage in both types of content because they do them both (they don’t exist in any material amounts).

If you are a PVPer, you spend a week (less) getting initial honor gear and you are competitive. Can play and enjoy. You still get upgrades from time to time, they decrease the gap between you and the theoretical top even more. Half-way into the season you are at the cap, nobody has gear better than yours, you can stop worrying about that entirely and just play.

If you are a PVEer, you don’t have to do PVP to get anything. Unlike now.

It’s a win-win all around.

Holy words!!! actually is full of PVEers with 220 ILv that are totally trash in pvp.
Pvp and pve must be 2 different thing and PVEers should not have vantanges from their gear in pvp.

Reintroducing the same scaling will be nice too.

Good. Only need to equalize player power in PvP and throw in NEW PvP Talents and revamp regulat Talents. Took them 6 years to see for themselves that circular wheel is still the best shape.

I actually think that this is just a buff for PvEers. Why? Because as a PvP person that wants to time all 15s, for example, you need to grind double sets of gear to be competitive.

PvP people are looked at as 2nd rate players, because it is their gear being downscaled and then upscaled and not the PvEers gear. We’re getting clowned on.

This means world content (Maw) will be much slower with your (in theory) 200 ilvl gear that goes up to 233 in pvp situations. I’d much more prefer having my 226 gear at all times rather than 233 once people attack me.

Also to make this completely fair, why don’t PvE people have 200 ilevel gear that scales up once you enter dungeons/raids? They will work for their ~220 ilevel gear and then enter rbgs, arenas and have a bigger advantage than fully geared PvP players (capped at 200 or even less) stepping into PvE. This means that PvP players need 2 sets of gear while PvE players need one. Why is it not the other way around?

A long term solution to this would be:

  1. Keep it as it is right now. The system really isn’t that bad compared to BFA.
  2. Introduce resilience.

That’s an oxymoron. A PVP person wants to bg / arena. You are talking about some imaginary person who calls himself PVP but wants to m+ for some reason. Most PVP players only do m+ / raids when they have to do them to get gear. (Same for PVE players, just in case.) Players like you describe perhaps exist, but they are rare. Right now these rare (mostly imaginary) players have it easy while the majority have it hard, this should be reversed, this is the whole point.

I’m talking from my own and my friend’s perspective. We liked both mounts so we chose to get them both. I did mplus only for the limited edition mount. It’s not as imaginary as you think. Trust me and re-read what I wrote this will make PvPers 2nd class citizens at best and at worst it will make PvE gear dominate PvP gear on the very very highest ilevel (fully geared m raider va highesr level pvper) because we are the ones getting our ilevel tossed around and not them. Why don’t we keep our stats in the open world and instead the PvEers need to scale up once inside instances?

I have been doing the same thing, they all jump like sheeps without even knowing what these changes mean.

This is a PvP gear nerf, this is the first thing you all need to know and never forget related to these changes.

If this happens its great news! From a pvp perspective WOD pvp gearing was much better than what we have now.

In my opinion PVP shouldent be the go to gear route for pve gear, so I dont think the “but I pvp for gear so I can raid” argument to carry any valid points. If one like to raid/do pve, one should be able to get pve gear from doing pve content. Not having pvp as some gear-cow one can milk for faster/easier pve gearing.
