Preach is stoppig WoW coverage

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZ6w--GhpaM
Didn’t think that day would come.

Watch the entire thing. The lawsuit was the final straw, the game is in decling for years, the developers are activaly fighting with the playerbase and there is no light at the end of that tunnel.

Even friggin’ Taliesin and Evitel are considering stopping.
And MadSeasonShow.
And many others.

This is bad. This is so, so, so bad.

I like Preach’s videos. I’m devastated because although the game had broken and that was bad, now the community’s broken and that’s far worse.

The end of an era. In the end what will kill wow will not be any other game, but a death-by-a-thousand-cuts scenario from blizzard themselves. The lawsuit proceedings only hastened this along.

Good, honestly, burn it to the ground. The only way FF14 managed to fix its disaster of a game was burning and rebuilding from the ground.

was for a different reason though.

Both these content creators rely heavly on WoW for thier income. Even Evitel gave up her RL job to do WoW stuff (and her baby ofc).

As quoted previously by somone else on this forum - “some of them will come back in a couple of weeks when Blizz have made enough empty gestures to allow them to backpedal without losing face.”

He was a classic content creator, but honestly Blizzard are treating classic like retail. Nobody wanted lvl 58 boost, nobody wanted a store mount. It’s the same type of attitute “we will make it and they will like it”.

He’s not really stopping. He’ll keep with drama time, and some other of his projects, just not going to cover WoW on a regular base.

imo, dont think thats true. ppl didn’t “follow” those streamers because they were leading some ground breaking wow progress. Never saw them push high m+ or high pvp or raid first race. They are more community oriented and right now most of the community is “revolutionised” hence they are either left with making “negative” content concerning lawsuits and the state of WoW which their viewers will eventually put into the spotlight during a stream or just find a new game that has attracted much attention and where ppl are still positive or mostly positive like New World, FF14 or the other one in the making, forgot the name.

Nope he said he will not be covering future content unless drastic changes to their culture etc… only drama time and legacy series.

He specifically said that he’ll cover the next world first race, because it’s a community event.

Game was at its peak long before any of these streamers ‘‘who keep game alive’’ knew what internet is…

And guess what?Game is still going to be here after they are gone.

They have 0 impact to playerbase whatsoever. They only think they do,because it makes them feel ‘‘special and important’’

Preach or that 40 years old looking baldgold leaving, wont make that many people leave, and those who leave because their ‘‘idol’’ left dont deserve to be here in the first place, because they dont have brain on ther own.

Lilith is a white knight for Activision since the dawn of time. Just ignore him.

Yeah, because streaming didn’t exist, but youtube did. When the game was at its peak, we had Warcraftmovies, World of Roguecraft, PvP motages like Zalgadrias, Reckless, Athene, Swifty. We had full fan made movies like Tales of the Past and Elite Danish Supersnackers. I’d say the game during its peak had a lot more community driven activities than right now.
Content creators leaving matters.
I’m telling you, if you haven’t watched Tales of the Past 3, you don’t know WoW at its peak.

Can’t say I will really miss content creators. I think it’s good for Preach that he is stopping, considering he wanted to get Preach Gaming off the ground and diversifying for that is a good idea, but I also can’t help but feel to say: “Well, good. Thanks for doing us that solid. There’s the door, here’s your complimentary bag.”

What these content creators did was exasperate even the smallest problems into such huge deals and create sound bits to throw around.

For example, I hear so many people say: “remember how bad Maw of Souls farming was, amIrite?! We had to do that.” I mean, no. I never farmed Maw of Souls for the AP. Played Legion, had a good time, even went full into Argus and didn’t mind Maw of Souls at all. Same thing with titan-forging. I never cared for titan-forging. This notion that someone would become the equivalent of full mythic BiS due to it was always mathematically close to impossible.

Almost everyone I spoke to outside of the online circles across Reddit and the content creators (guild, friends list, current IRL friends playing WoW) never had this problem or perceived it as such. They thought it was neat to get an item occasionally, but that’s about it. They didn’t mind Azerite points and didn’t farm Island Expeditions. They didn’t mind artifact power and didn’t farm Maw of Souls. Nobody except the “elite” had to. But Preach repeated that he had to so many times because he was a mythic raider, and people naturally repeated that because: “If top raiders need to do it, I need to say I did it too! That way I’ll seem like a top raider.”

What about the story? Can we point out something in the story that we like without immediately having fifty people tell us how garbage it is? Like…yes, I liked the Elune cinematic but disliked the Sylvanas one heavily. Liked the music and thought the VA was well done. Didn’t perceive Elune as a “lunatic” or anything of the sort. It’s possible to have different opinions of different points, and even if twenty things are terrible, another few can be good or great.

Is the end of an era sad? Yes, sure, I agree. But at the same time, good bloody riddance. Maybe the people who enjoy the game, even just for a couple of months at a time like myself, can now actually enjoy the game and talk about that.

No it wasn’t. They’re the same reasons, it’s just different for them what broke the camel’s back.

I think for the first time ever these content creators are addressing the real problems. I’ve been trying to on the forums to talk about the 4 core design pillars for a while now. I got an old Blizzard employee to explain it for me, and he did it really well, and I agree with him, so I suddenly understood what the underlying problems were.

And now it’s not just me. Now a lot of people understand. It’s good to see even if it’s too late.

They all agree it’s the cash shop, the lack of RPG elements, the chores, the destruction of the community element (i.e. friends list emptying), the broken systems, and now of course the sexual assault allegations. They’ve all quit for the same reasons, just some of them tolerated a bit more than others.

You seem to forget that people are moaning about the game since classic? World of Roguecraft, hello? That’s the most iconic rogue video and is all about how OP rogues are.
The only reason why you wouldn’t remember videos in 2007 of how long it takes for a GM to respond, or how rogues are too broken, or how the rank 14 system is garbage, is because the internet was in its infancy. Or you didn’t play the game.

If people want to quit the game or stop streaming, so be it.
No need to spread the news.
What do we need to do with this information ?
Like really, what do people expect when they make these “I quit” posts.
Do they want us to quit as well ?
Do they want us to stop enjoying a game because they have stopped doing so ?

There is no need for this on the forum.

He’s quite right in a way, ie : BURDEN is not fun, nobody like burdens.

Blizzard must listen to players rather than to their stupid ideas no players asked for.

Wooow, they don’t deserve to be here.
