Priest or warlock in classic wow?

I’m trying to main either one of them:

-priest is a great healer, and probably the most intersting healer in pve, but pve is anecdotal in classic wow, I feel like pvp is going to be much more of a focus. Shadow is strong as hell in 1v1, even early on, but spriest is kind of a one trick pony. Tri spec priests are a great support in pvp, holy priests too

-warlock has the best 1v1 spec in the game (soul link) but if you want to group pvp you need to go destro or sm/ruin to be good. They’re probably still a very decent 1v1 class even outside of SL, but you need gear. They’re good in pvp, good at everything pretty much, and sm/ruin is a very polyvalent spec overall.

What should I pick guys? Thanks a lot

It’s very simple: if you don’t want to heal, go warlock, it’s not even a question.

Gearing a warlock will be significantly easier than gearing a spriest, and you’re actually good at everything : pvp, pve, group pvp.

Yes spriests are 1v1 monsters (especially trolls and undead with shadowguard and devouring plague), but locks scale like monsters, are more interesting by far, and are just more polyvalent and have better qol
