Priest vampiric embrace bug?

Hey there,

I am levelling priest atm and play as a shadow priest. I noticed some things and wonder if they are bugs or it’s something I cannot understand.

1. I got improved vampiric embrace talent. But when I cast the spell and when I hover the debuff which is over the enemy it says that heals the caster 20% instead of 30% with the shadow dmg done.

2. I have a wand that does spell dmg, but I don’t get healed by vampiric embrace when I’m wanding.

Looking forward to see if you fellow shadow priests have seen something similar.

EDIT: First comment on Wowhead claims this:

"I have a 60 shadowpriest, ive been a shadowpriest ever since i hit 60. heres the lowdown.

1. wands dont heal you even if they are shadow damage. but you should definatley use a shadow wand because of shadow weaving which improves all shadow damage dealt to the enemy."

Yes, it does shadow dmg. Didn’t knew that dmg from wands doesn’t work with VE.
