It’s not something you’re supposed to be doing all by yourself, as others said before. It’s something meant to be a guild effort, just like most legendary quests are. If each guildie pitches in a Primordial Saronite (which isn’t hard to do, if you can get 5 Emblems per day via hc+, that means 5 days worth of daily dungeons not even counting ICC itself or VoA), then you can easily ammass enough PS to get your Shadow’s Edge for the 1st or 2nd raid lockout.
If you’re trying to do it by yourself, well… yes it’ll be a struggle but that’s how it’s meant to be.
Yes it isnt something you are supposed to do alone, but having people sacrifice their tier gear for 1 week + or no one getting boes for months is completely outrageous compared to all other legendaries in the history of the game.
The alternative is to buy it with gold which is a massive gold sink with all the RMT, which is unreasonable.
Again, no wing released content, shorter phase and huge RMT, these are things impacting this part of the questline that didnt originally impact this questline.
Man, 23 EoF really isn’t the end of the world, and for those people for whom it is, they can just save 10-20k gold or w/e to buy one PS from AH (that’s what I plan to do at least). Or you can use an alt to get the EoF on that char instead - Primordial Saronite is BoE anyway
again we will mostly use 2nd or 3rd alts to do it, for me and then second week for 2nd guy. But i still think it is stupid to not update this quest step for the hugely different way this is now compared to later, again moving the saronite requirement to later is a great alternative, you can even move shadows edge as well with it.
No you wont you only get close to 80. And you need 2-300 something for all tier pieces to start upgrading.
What it is per person is irrelevant, you are ignoring the point to make a different one, it is an overall 23x25 badges required, getting 25 people to all donate is one thing, paying is another and third it is all essentially them spending their gearing or gold making to get your legendary, it is ridiculous when compared to how it was supposed to be.
You had several weeks to do this before the next step of the questline even unlocked.
So what? By the time you finished even one Shadowmourne, then people should have EoF to spare to buy 1 more PS. And the price of PS themselves on AH should have drastically lowered.
That still means you’re only set back a couple days by it. I think most people will manage.
By the time you have finished 1 Shadowmourne, you most likely will be in cata before you get a second in your alternative. I dont think you are considering the length of icc + Ruby sanctum at all.
a whole week. Irregardless you are just saying it isnt a big deal, but the fact is it wasnt balanced around this at all and thats why it needs to be changed.
Then why would you care about the 2nd or 3rd Shadow’s Edge anyway? If you just need a non-legendary weapon, Corpsemaker or hc Ramaladni are just as valid as Shadow’s Edge.
Maybe you’re the one needing to ratchet down your expectations and understand that you’re not going to get SMourne by leading pugs etc as fast as a person who got a guild’s backing. If you’re 2nd or 3rd in line, just accept that you likely won’t get SMourne before the expansion is nearly over.
Try and do some math and read a bit of the posts so you can understand the problems listed, before again, just making another none thought out post that has nothing to do with me or the issues. if you 2nd in line you more than likely wont, if you 3rd there is 100% no chance and 1st it is gonna be a struggle for most people to reasonably get it in ruby sanctum.
Hell just read about the “wing” release of the original raid and take it from there to formulate an actual usefull answer. Your post indicates the lack of reading comprehension or patience, which i wouldnt know.
Dont think its wing releases. It will be the full raid just like sunwell. And therefore shadowmourne crafts will take 2months max + the time for the first quests.
You’re right that it’ll take a long time, but Primordial Saronite has nothing to do with it. Most guilds’s 1st Shadowmourne candidate will have Shadow’s Edge crafted week 1 (by having each guild member pitch in a PS, as I mentioned before - whether it’s via gold, main EoF or alt EoF is a player decision), then be done with the infusion quests by week 2 at the absolute most. From there, it’s collecting Shadowfrost Shards that’s going to take the most time - likely 2 months or so, as others mentioned. By then, the sheer amount of PS and EoF obtained should be enough to already have the 2nd player in line ready to start collecting SFS.
In short, PS won’t be a problem for anyone except “lone wolves” who expect to make their own SFS runs and get Shadowmourne all by themselves, without any help from a guild.
The shard droprate is between 25 and 50% and on top of that number 2 and 3 will already be done with their prequest before the first one is done, skipping that whole part essentially and just go with the shard one in terms of actual time too.
