Private servers?

I agree with everything else. But this is 100% Blizzard’s responsibility. They’re the ones who set up mega servers, for their own reasons (fear servers would die and more probably, saving on costs).

Level 10 troll with level 10 posts.

Whoever this person is has a clear tunnel vision that everything blizzard is sunshine and roses (you all got phones right).

If private servers were not as popular as they are and if the Nost team didnt get to speak with blizz then you would not have classic.

Quite how blizzard have allowed classic to release and unfold as it has is a shame but its not due to private servers. I dont think private server owners have called up big Bob and said hey do this or do that.

Anyone using these forums is an official player and so can say what they want to blizz.

Its because blizzard didnt believe in classic that theyve ended up with not enough servers.
Its because of streamer hype that so many no lifed it to 60.

Id bet there are people on your friends list that played private servers, they are after all just normal people!

Personally i want wrath back and space goats and pos fos hor farms.

“From what you gathered.”
I played there, and I’d take a crash or 2 per week any day if my game doesn’t lag out like classic does now.
Oh yes they were laggy at first, but guess what those so called pitlrates did.
They invested in better hardware and POOF! lag gone.

Private servers are what made Classic possible

It’s a pity Blizzard isn’t learning from them, they could provide a far superior experience as currently Blizz servers are inferior to pservers.

In addition to that, money that was paid by retail subscribers, the shop, the race changes, the migrations, the tokens etc. Money that came from those “dirty retailers”.

But people paid for the original World of Warcraft.

So private servers is a 100 percent illegal, and yet they exist over time ?

If so then that surprises me. Blizz lawyers really that weak ?

Funny how a vanilla private server community that has been thriving for a decade is “killing off vanilla”… Mate

There are countries where one can host servers and just ignore the letters that blizzards lawyers send you without any real consequence…

Dude, Blizzard made billions in profit on Vanilla alone. Its not like BfA subscribers buying store mounts was needed to release a copy of their own game…

I think the responder was stating the simple fact that folk who dislike any feature of Classic immediately back up their argument with even ‘insert private server’ got this right

I always read that as ‘ on the pirate, illegal server, I used to use to steal Blizzard’s copyright the dev team made a feature work in a way I preferred’

Private servers is the wrong nameplate - illegal copyright infringement site would be a more accurate description

50% take it or leave it!

Both sides are guilty imo. Blizzard left the door open and the pirates squatted and (majority) refuse to leave.

But in hindsight i think Blizzard might have planned the mega server set up to snare the pirate server players.

Can’t even blame them if im really honest. :unamused:

Hopefully they will put up some normal ones at some point.

Yes it is.

There is no such thing as “their own client”. Its Blizzards client.

Meaning that on Devils Island everyone is okay with it. :man_facepalming:

But it’s not illegal… riiiiight. :exploding_head:

So if you buy a pair of shoes you can steal the second pair?

That is not funny … mate, that is ironic (and sad).

Level 36 rogue calling himself a sage.

Stopped reading after that gem, sorry.

No, but you own the first pair and the manufacturer cannot restrict what you can do with your shoes. European laws are much more customer friendly than USA laws.

You never purchased ‘world of Warcraft’ - you purchased the WoW Client - which requires a subscription to Blizzard in order to play - that’s it

So you never had any choice who you subscribed to - how you accessed the game - it had to be a Blizzard subscription.

So your analogy is ridiculous- it lacks even basic intelligence

Umm some judges disagree. For example I have a world of warcraft purchase invoice so I am the owner of my world of warcraft vanilla copy, that is true according to my country laws. TOS is not valid if it is not signed at the moment of the purchase.
I can do wherever I wish with my copy even connecting to any other server.

No - you can’t - you are living in cloud cuckoo land

I have the original Vanilla - TBC and WotLK discs - you have to subscribe before you play - you accept the license agreement to use the software - it has to be used in connection with a BlIzzard subscription

Which planet do you live on?

*Pirate Servers.

Ftfy

As if you stopped reading.

What the heck do shoes have to do with it? If you want to make comparisons at least choose something that is comparable (although i think i can work with it).

People bought wow and to my knowledge NOBODY has ever bought wow2.

But to use your shoe example…if i buy a pair of shoes i then own them and can wear them where ever i like. I can wear them on the public pavement (sidewalk) or on a private court (tennis, basketball etc). Here the first scenario is Blizz and the second is the other option.
