Problem with warrior tanks

Real problem is, why would you ever spec into a prot?

Realistically speaking PROT is only necessary for raiding…you can also tank with fury spec and prot gear in any dungeon and have same result.

I’m saying this because i’m currently sitting in prot spec and full pre-raid gear and no raids need an actual tank because all slots in every guild are full. I have been asking a few guilds for any tanking /offtanking positions and same thing.

Learn from me, spec into fury and get tanking gear because the tanking spots seem to be filled

i use the fury/prot hybrid spec, the only thing i am missing when doing it is tactical mastery (and the 5% parry obviously, but it’s meaningless in the grand scheme of things) and i still enjoy fury for both questing, world grinding, and dpsing in raids/dungeons where i don’t have to tank

It suits my play style.

But prot is not bad for dungeons as well IMO.

Yep, I expect that and probably will stop playing shortly after finishing all solo content, but I’ll see about that.

I don’t really understand your point. You can reset your talents at your trainer. Why does it matter?

You could similarly write a "Problem with Boomkins, feral druids, ele shamans, enhance shamans, retpals, spriests. These meme dps specs aren’t brought into raids either. That’s Classic WoW in a nutshell.

I think one of the biggest issues with Warriors is rend.

playing as a tank/healer is basically just gimping yourself to not be available to do outdoor content normally, and do x2 amount of work in raids. All for the same rewards as dps gets? Nah thank you. Esp considering that you are taking damage and have to pay the plate repair bills.

There is no such thing as a meme specc… Spriest fx is clearly not near being a bad specc, it out dps alot of other dps classes unless its a very long fight, which aint the case with any raids atm. Ive seen boomkins and ret paladins doing very well on the dps meters aswell, all you guys dont know what you talk about… meta nerds

But what gear should spriests get from raids? The T1 is for healers, and other stuff are just bad compared to T1 and is competed with all casters.

The world only needs 3/40 of the players to be tanks. So yea that position is competitive. But there’s always a chance, since the vast majority of warriors prefers to DPS. Keep trying!

Furyprot is a better tank anyway.

First point is false, second makes me wonder - why even raid if you perceive it as “work”?

Why going Warrior tank ?

  • Go main tank in your raid and have more responsability than spamming frostbolt :stuck_out_tongue: .

  • Go main tank in your raid and get Thunderfury, super fat weapon who make you big with high treath generator.

  • No need to farm gold in a world that is crowded, you can go dungeon with guild or pug and you can end with some blue/green if you are lucky. And you can spam Strat Live with fat DPS to reserve 1 Orb per run so you make 25/30g every Strat Live. And if you want to change, you can just reroll an alt to farm golds with another way.

  • You will never struggle to find a group for dungeon.

  • Less competition on loot, you will get gear fast in raid. For example it’s usual that Warrior Tank got the onyxia head before all raids members.

  • Melee will likely not try to kill you in World PvP.

But yeah sure it’s a hard job, need to have a lot of consumables for raid, responsability, …

Just run Prot and respec to raid. If you are not willing to b flexibele, quit already. Stop whining tho, its embarrassing for us other wars.

Find the right people. We have a ret palla in our raid team and we down ragnaros and onyxia everyweek.

I too have been doubting my decision to go prot.
Since every group has atleast 2 people just going crazy on aoe the second you pull, it just adds stress to tanking.
Also, every piece of gear received to reduce incoming damage feels like a big loss on TPS and rage.
And damage reduction is quite useless when the fury warr in my group keeps blasting crits and taking aggro.
Miss a shield slam and i’ll surely have to taunt/mocking blow.

I too am considering the dual wield prot spec, but that just feels like i’m shifting the stress on my healer.

Currently running prot with impale.

And what point would i even be geared enough for dual wield prot, it’s described as a spec for when i’m completely decked out.

It isn’t I cant do half the stuff at all and the other half the stuff I do are 50% as efficient.

I raid because I want gear for PVP, easy as that.

Many classes have good hybrid PvE/PvP/farm spec. Starting tomorrow, tanks and healers can also duofarm DME which is decent gph.

If you compare all the content pure classes or dps specced classes can do to the ones that healers/tanks can do, we will get a huuuuge difference. There is no point in denying it really. Not to mention that Hybrid classes are gimped because their pve gear is for tanking/healing only and not dps oriented. It is just bad game design that limits freedom.

sure they can do good burst damage, but they have no sustain because they run out of mana too quickly. that’s why they’re at the bottom of meters and people would rather stack good dps classes/specs

Why are people still arguing about this 15 years later? it’s been a well known fact for all these years that the meme specs are meme specs for a reason! they’re a meme!

Yes u can have fun in pvp and burst people down but in pve face the truth you’re a wet sock compared to warriors and mages

You can’t duo last boss in dme at the moment, need at least 1 dps, preferably aoe. And 2 others gonna take some time to kill with tank and heal only, which will reduce gph ratio. Fury warrior + mage + shaman is the best combo for that right now i think, can’t wait to test this :joy:
