Hello everyone, so as we already have era servers and som is nearing its end, let’s discuss exactly what could the classic+ be.
Instead of faster leveling(which is absurd as we already have era servers with people on max levels) these changes might be interesting:
More class quests. Some classes, like warlocks and warriors had lot of class quests. While some, like priest had none from level 6 to level 51. Also let’s make class rewards relevant. Instead of forcing a warrior to get level 60 to help, let them get level appropriate gear while grouping up with similar level people. Nobody could get that brutal hauberk at 24, it was level 30+ dungeon. And come on, there are better items at 30+ already.
More bank storage or ban bank alts. Bank alts ruin immersion. I have a character and I have to exploit the game to add extra bank space but then have to relog all time. It’s nonsense. Either really limit us with bank alt ban or give us extra space.
Any way to remove paid boosting from game.
Improve professions. Instead of zerg-rushing to 60 and then compete with lowbies for mines and etc, make gear relevant and useful. I remember 2h green sword recipe from STV. It needed ridiculous amount of mats but was not worth it at that level anyway. Give us more blues and even epics at low levels, we will farm more mats no problem but make them worthwhile to last at least 5 levels.
Leveling time is decent, I would not even mind prolonging it instead of quickening it.
World and Dungeon mobs need buffs. The content was tuned for 1.1 patch, when for example mages had no mage armor, arcane explosion had cast time and evocation was a talent. Of course the mobs need to be stronger to adjust to massive boost to characters’ strength in the 1.12 patch.
I am really not sure about hybrid buffs, that’s actually a fundamental change. I would prefer giving paladins a bit more gear similar to defense/mana per 5 gear from strath instead of taunt.
I can’t remember anything else, but these are so far what I can remember. Feel free to challenge and/or add anything.
Paladins are pretty viable imho. Not on raid bosses but they can tank adds anywhere. I don’t think they need changes, just gear, to add a bit more defense and mana per 5 gear, just like that stratholme set. Why should they be able to aoe farm and also tank like warrior, that’s unfair.
… dude, it would take too much to respond to u. As a long story hard core paladin let me say this, and I hope u’ll believe me or u cna try to contact me in game, I’ll explain in detail. Better itemization will not save prot pallies. They need
taunt for raid bosses (“not on raid bosses but they can tank adds anywhere” means no spot for u in raid. ppl will just prefer a feral druid, who can actually do even better in aoe than a pally tank.Same story for dungeons too. The myth that prot pallies are the best aoe tanks is smthign youtubers liked to say before wow classic started, if u played it u should know it is not the case).
Mana per 5 will do little since the 5 sec rule will still apply and ur mana will not be enough to keep up with ur group/raid. Also it will mean less gear points on that item for mitigation or defense or stats like intellect or stamina. Sadly prot palas need all things together: stamina, mitigation, defense, mana and spell power. Gear alone will never be able to give em all of those things. Not with the vanilla itemization system.
Prot palas can’t be fixed by their gear, they need a taunt and a mitigation talent like redoubt (tbc version), atleast +5% stamina from talents and some mana regeneration. And don’t worry even the tbc prot pal version, with vanilla gear, will still be inferior to warrior tanks. By far.
But most of all, u seem to forget about ret pallies. They are pretty viable eh?
Not even mentioning shadow priests or balance druids
That said ofc I have nothing against ppl not wanting class changes, I do not agree but I respect that. Simply don’t say me that pallies are viable, that’s just a big /facepalm for me. Stop watching higly edited youtube videos who makes u think so. Sure u can pull out smthing good out of em, that’s why I play a pally too, but be honest and accept that we pallies (except holy) do suck. Also pls, if u are ok for some changes then do not think that item changes will be less impactfull on the game than class changes, it will be the exact opposite. Can’t stress the last sentence enough.
Nice last, I agree with all of em. I would exclude extra bag space for secured account tho, since we already have it in game (+4 is already alot for classic). Tho I can’t actually like it because it’s missing the most important point (for me): class changes to the un-viable specs
If you min-max, then you should bring like 10 fury warriors because threat problem is non-existent in 1.12 patch. Rogues were better than fury warriors because they could drop aggro but became obsolete later. You take these classes to raids as charity event, not because they are absolute best classes.
I used to play prot paladin. For adds they are nice. Why would anyone use them to tank raid bosses? Paladins have aoe farming tool, so making them viable raid tanks would defeat purpose of ever bringing a warrior in team, as they have not much to offer to raid, paladins have DI and some other nice things.
I remember Fankriss adds required pala tanks. And some other encounters I guess.
So why should anyone bring a prot warrior in a dungeon? They give nothing apart form that AP buff, which paladins have and lot more on top of that. Same with druids - druids can stealth, can buff thorns+motw, can innervate and rez. There is no reason to ever bring a warrior tank in a dungeon then.
I was very angry that my guild was min-maxing. They demanded I equip cloth to heal in raids. I refused, farmed plate healing gear, but they dropped me from raids. I was never invited to AQ40. But I was always ready, with enchants and stuff.
Because people are min-maxing, they want everyone to be the best, instead of having fun in this weak 1.1 content, while we have OP 1.12 talents.
