Prot paladins shouldnt exist

Why do they exist?

-Just skip game mechanics with immunities. -Even give immunities to friends.
-Ress faster and more reliably than engineering tanks.
-Insane offheals
-dispells

Had a group wipe in neltharus last boss just now, and the only reason we could time it in the end was because i divine shielded when everyone else was dead and ressed two people almost instantly and insta word of gloried huge heals. Theres literally no other tank in game that can support a team like this — even close.

In BH healer had problems when first boss got excited to slash him and he kept dieing was a bit undergeared perhaps for tyrannical, but when i switched to prot pally i just gave him physical immunity and offheal. When I saw totem was popping I just magic immuned myself too and ignored magic stun.

Underrot players brain 404 and get a lot of worms so 20 stacks. About to rip. What do you do as a tank? you rip. What do you do as a prot pally? you bubble and laugh about it.

Like all the struggle with other tanks and you just press an immunity with paladin. It doesnt make any sense.

All other tanks are selfish tanks meaning they can potentially be very tanky, but they cant carry the group like this

Imagine if DH could give metamorphosis to other players? it still wouldnt be an immunity

Blessing of Protection will grant immunity to all Physical attacks to the player for up to 10 seconds.

Why is it an immunity and not for example 30% physical dmg reduction?

Because they are fun to play. Roll a Dwarf Paladin, and you get Stoneform too.

Pretty obvious you don’t play a prot paladin, a lot of inconsistency in your post. By the way, we’ve been carrying pugs for a very long time and solo’ing a tyrannical boss at +18 or higher or even certain Mythic raid bosses at some point, World bosses… has always been possible for years.

Heck… Yesterday, I even Cr’d players back during two +18 tyrannical fights , only for them to die again and just decided to solo the bosses., and finish the key.

Useless weaklings…

Can we have the rest of the story involving this 5+ minute kill, seeing as you used BoP and Spellwarding on the same fight despite their linked 5 minute cooldown?

Was it the first boss Nelth Lair?

immune to spells in this case meant divine shield, 3.5min cd — 8s immunity, which is entirerly possible

So congratz you used first BoP a 5min cooldown that are worthless in so many cases that i would say it is not worth it in somewhere between 95-99% of the time.
You also used 2 talent points as a bare minimum to be able to use divine shield as a tank at all and have it at 3.5min cooldown.
Both BoP and Bubble has been in the game from 2005

Same speed as DK have had it for actual decade now.
Druid also have CR and have had it forever.
and faster and more reliable then engineering.

So has many other classes but it has been in the game from 2005 for paladin.

Again something that has existed literally forever and it is not magic dispel and it is also a talented ability now.
Heck that mage you are using to comment on has dispells and are immune to damage.

Congratulations you have found that prot paladin is a good pug tank like it has been a very long time now.

Funny enough, despite all their “god like” set of utilities and “immortality” (according to the op), I often come across prots that get annihilated within seconds because they don’t know how to play. Not to mention them not using their “god like” set of utilities on their group members. People just read that “protpalas are cool” and start playing them, blindly copying builds from whead and forgetting to use their own head.

Reminds me of runs back in BfA where our DK tank would be the only one left standing

thats just not true. most of tanks at equal itlv perform their tank duties almost equaly as good. group just has to change a bit their mindset depending on which tank is tanking and adjust a bit to the pulls

for me the only outliner (on bad side ) atm is vengence DH - but thats mostly because for some bizzare reason they put sigil of chains out in africa on talent tree and is much more squishier then other tanks for me because they have so few defensive abilities button to press (metamorphosis imo should be 1.5 min cd ability and they should have at least 1 extra def button with like 2 charges ) - but thats just me.

well you have to have a lot of keybinds and really good reflexes to use them.

and most of tanks panic in order to keep agro on pulls when everyone bursts mindlessly and they have so much stuff to watch for on some boss fights so ofc they dont have time to use them even if they would want.

A lot of that also has to do with people being completely unaware of how the game works at a fundamental level. You can’t dodge attacks from behind, you can’t parry attacks from behind, you can’t block attacks from behind. Yet a lot of people when playing tanks will just straight up give mobs their back when they’re running for more mobs to pull. LIKE, DON’T DO THAT.

all the other tank classes but warrior and paladin should be wiped out they fail to represent the classical knight protecting his or her allies behind a BIG shield :stuck_out_tongue: none of that two handed tanking nonsense or turning into a furry

how can blizzard contiune to do ruin our imersion by letting litteral drunkards, hardcore furries and anime undead keep our life safe :stuck_out_tongue:

My M+ tank is usually a bear so I have no idea these days :laughing:

Because, we’re awesome.

Let Paladins be flashy and pink just give other tanks some sort of utility or buff to the group.
