Prot paladins shouldnt exist

You realise that Blood Dks healing is essentially equivalent to the DR of every other tank right? This allows them to live the same pulls. So if you had no life and wanted to map out DR buff vs actual damage through a dungeon you’d see how much actual “healing” tanks are doing, it just doesn’t show up on meters the same way that barrier doesn’t.

But if you did it you’d understand that tanks actually heal / mitigate more damage than any healer could ever hope to heal.

They have literally buffed stamina and damage but you believe that this just didn’t happen?

I’m not saying healing isn’t still fine, I’m just saying that healers have lost enormous amounts of relative power compared to literally any other role (remember DPS healing got buffed).

On the meters yes, but not in reality - not in the actual value to the dungeon.

Reading these replies I have to say that I get why people aren’t more outraged…they just actually have no idea what’s going on…

:man_facepalming:

If a tank isn’t mitigating damage they’re gonna flop over in like 1 second. To view this as “healing” is ridiculous.

WOW, you’ve changed my mind that a tank doesn’t selfheal / mitigate more damage than healers do. Great response, thanks.

Then why is AOE mitigation a healer spell and not a tank ability?

Actually nevermind. I playing in a puddle here and it’s getting muddy. GLHFBB

or more likely they do dungeons both with good group and bad groups and see what is really happening.

if you do mechanics correctly , if you interupt if you dispel if you do stuff that you are supposed to be doing most runs go smoothly .

yes on higher keys like 16-17 its beginig to get rought but then if you do them in like 435 + itlv they are smoothed again by gear.

with each weeks its getting better and better in pugs. people get more gear people get more accustomed to dungeons and its getting better.

and if someone feels like they are tired with pushing - they can always couple of chilled out 11s for more crests.

This is not true or rather it is very modified.
DK also have DR and normal mitigation on top of the healing they do.
It is however reduced compared to others so the overall the numbers would be very similar.

I do not really see how this is relevant are you wanting tanks to be more squishy here?
Because there are more people to heal then the tank in the group.
And ironically tanks are more squishy in this expansion then the last one.

You say this yet you also forget healers have gained more power in gear themselves, without the nerf the healing would be incredibly strong getting to the point of 1 heal doing 90% of someones health at least that is the fear and why the nerfs happened.

But lets look at this claim on Kazzara Jdotb (druid) healed 179 841hps
The highest healing tank in that run was a paladin with 43 460hps
The damage intake of the paladin was 72 833.4 Damage taken per second.
That same tank mitigated 65.58%.
Even taking the mitigated number and adding the healing that is just 91 225 damage per second the paladin Tank is reducing with mitigation and healing together.

That is very close to half of what Jdotb had as HPS on the very same fight.

So your statement:

Is demonstrably wrong just be this example alone.
Even if i take both tanks mitigation and healing and add them together the damage reduction/healing it does is 173 080 per second.
While at the same time Jdotb heals for 179 841 HPS

So even 2 tanks 2 players together is not the same amount as the healing output of a healer in this case.

As a 440 holy priest, this is already pretty much happening if I crit heal my power word life. A crit heal from serenity heals a pretty sizeable amount as well.

I think holy priest is an outlier then. Looking at my logs (434 hpala +18 halls), my highest word of glory is 206k heal. And that is when all stars align. My average wog is 89k. It is actually very hard and a lot of abilities to get 1 player back to reasonable health. We are currently looking at about 10% of a dps healthbar per healing spell. I am not even sure 25% more or less would make a really difference. Our spells do basically nothing.
