i agree with you, but it was just such a bizare take to me that had nothing to do with the entire post about trp3 and rping.
This happens all the time on the forums, but more often than not things do get back on track once things are sort of done.
As said, I do think the meme of Helldivers can be fun if its absolutely understood to be satire and done in such a way. But it starts to go into bad territory when you use it to 
post on people you clearly disagree with and unironically use it as some form of counter argument/dismissal of someone.
Even if that’s not your intention, it does look like it and then it’d be good to reflect a little.
That is fair. Not everyone from the same guild is an alt or its always a coordinated effort. To say that right away is quite unfair.
This is absolutely true though. The community of the game is walking a fine line currently between alt-right gamers and people who think they should drop off the planet and understands the satire.
Just look at the outrage of “Can we have a trans flag?” as an example. It’s been months since it first occurred and it’s still a “hot topic” with alot of transphobic and hostile comments thrown around on the regular in the community.
TRP3 wont be removed. It’s usability will be greatly diminished. RP won’t die, but it’ll become much worse to share player-made data and items.
I think people are sort of forgetting/misunderstanding that the change Blizzard is making is Significantly throttling all addon communication. This means all addons are going to have a harder time sending data between one another, and RP profile sharing inherently relies on it. There won’t be a work-around for RP addons like PvE addons might be able to

ON the actual topic of trp3, i think it will definitely affect a lot of the rp that happens for example if TRP3 does stop working the hardest part is gonna be knowing a characters name as not all characters names are the same as it is in trp.
We can hope for the best that it only diminishes features as speedwagone mentioned.

I think, unfortunately, if TRP does permanently go down, we’ll lose a good chunk of our RP playerbase. I think its natural for people to be worried.
Its such a wonderful little tool and quality of life improvement. Losing it, even if temporarily, will be such a shame. The negative impact it will have on upcoming events (such as markets, brawls and concerts just to name a few) will be huge.
How will medics be able to keep track of HP in combat? Or, traders advertising and keeping stock of their wares? What if your username differs from your character’s name? All of those custom-made TRP items with so much history behind them rendered useless.

To an extent. Its not uncommon for people to unironically support the values that are being satirized while then hiding behind “Its just a joke bro” and similar comments when called out.
Satire is satire, but it needs to be understood and clear that it’s satire. Otherwise it ceases to be.

I love politics in my media. Not IRL politics infesting my media. It’s mostly an ordeal of whether or not the media is written with an actual political statement or intent in mind. (Like Helldivers 2’s tongue in cheek commentary on fashy themes, parodying them.)
Roleplayers are like weeds, no matter what Blizzard chucks at them it’s just like a substance you can’t get off from once you had a taste.
