Blizzard don’t support anything on the PTR so you will just have to try again.
Same problem here. Been trying for about 10 hours now, but still no difference …
Now I found out the problem, I could only choose PTR2, not PTR1
I am pretty sure you should be able to copy character on either one. Currently there seems to be a problem with copying characters from PvP to PvE server and vice versa.
character copy takes few seconds if not instant.
if it’s stuck for you? close game and re-open it. & try again.
Well, the transfer of my main from Venoxis-EU (PvP-Realm) to Classic PTR Realm 1 (PvE-Realm) doesn’t seem to work. Have been waiting for over an hour and still stuck at “Please wait … Copy in progress.”.
However copying the character to Classic PTR Realm 2 (PvP-Realm) seems to work but honestly I’d prefer not getting ganked while testing stuff 
Therefore I hope they’ll fix it soon as my mate, who copied his char yesterday, had no problems at all.
=> Just logged in on a level 1 character and submitted a bug-report.
Hope they’ll fixed it soon anyway.
Okay, now even copying the char to PTR Realm 2 doesn’t seem to work anymore.
Maybe there are too many people copying their chars at once 
Doesnt work for me. Tried both realms.
Since anything PTR is not supported you can only try again.
Same issue for me, can’t copy any of my characters since yesterday. Could only do it on PTR release with multiple retries. Have been trying for hours today, no luck.
how u gonna test if u cant even copy a character… lol

Just tried that but as expected that was not the issue.
So I guess the character copy is just disabled at the moment.
there was noone online all day but a random level 1 at times, there is something wrong with the PTR.
It’s a testing realm, maybe they want to test something that’s not a max level?
There’s many reasons why it’s deactivated and only Blizzard know them.
Just wait, they’ll activate it again.
What could be the meaning of making a news for AQ release on PTR and not letting max level join it? I tried several times yesterday and today, I did a new install on another hd and still nothing.
This is just boring, Blizz shouldnt be doing this kind of things

How many times do I have to say it IT’S A TEST REALM!, it’s not a retail realm, so you can’t expect anything from it. They use it to TEST stuff, so if they are not ready to test AQ, why let people copy their characters?
People are expecting retail support and standards on a test realm, my god get real.
i dunno about now but copy char was fine on first day, and tons of people was inside aq20
your install game has nothing to do with the copy char.
probably all lvl60 who joined on day1 is now saved to raid & No point in logging, However today i’ve met few lvl 60 alliance rogues in silithus.
Maybe they are changing something or shock and horror, reacting to bug reports.
Edit: Should they stop people copying, no, should they make a message that says you can’t copy for now when you try instead of the wait? Yes.
You people are really overthinking it.
It’s obvious that piece of software used to copy characters is either down or hanged. Hence the copying seems to last hours.
