Nah, the jailer is the blue child. He’s angry that the makers (Blizzard) banished him (you know, when the blue moon wasnt in the sky for an expac or two) and wants to remake the flawed system (unrealistic skybox mechanics).

Rewatching the cinematic and aside from the writing conveying Sylvanas as a misled idiot rather than the Jailer’s equal discontent with his betrayal of their plan, almost all of its problems lead back to BFA and Sylvanas’ atrocious writing back then.
The ‘serve’ hypocrisy, the prospect of redemption after Teldrassil and all the other atrocities while being a moustache-twirling, one-liner throwing edge-lord with no sympathy towards her victims, and her lightspeed descent from jaded anti-hero to full blown villainy all stem from whichever turd wrote her arc from that expansion.
As annoying as retcons are, I hope (and guess) the upcoming Sylvanas book will smooth it out as much as possible, and will feel more like a retcon of retcons. Christie Golden has a HELL of a job trying to salvage this.
