I still can’t quite grasp that this is what they built her up for over several expansions’ worth of schemes. I mean, “serve or be made to serve” was pretty much an ideological common ground with Zovaal with the minor distinction of offering a choice that really isn’t one.
I guess the writing can blame this moral myopia on her soul not being in one piece.
That’s because you’re trying to understand it as 1 singular track of writing while instead apparently they barely even think about the next patch, let alone the one after that.
You have to see it as them thinking of a Moment they want to have in the game, and taking the shortest path to said Moment that they can even if it goes through brick walls.

In an alternate timeline where Blizzard’s writing team developed a modicum of sense after this patch we get a cutscene of Jaina, Tyrande, Baine or Thrall curbstomping Sylvanas’ head into mush a minute after she passes out, grumbling to themselves about how the last Warchief they put on trial turned out.
He’d be up for it since he was willing to do it to Garrosh.
all 3 are alliance figureheads and if you remember, back during the siege of orgrimmar, it was the alliance that forced the trial to happen instead of letting pre-alliance thrall kill garrosh

Just remember Vareesa wanted to move her kids to undercity and stopped Garrosh from being poisoned causing us to suffer through WoD and then Legion and then BFA and then Shadowlands.
Can’t believe vareesa was the gullible pawn in all of this. Her idiocy caused it all.
