Well we know these aren’t fantastic writers and any competent nuance is probably cut for time or trimmed as too cerebral for the audience.
They either think they’re writing for people with the same cognitive capacities as themselves or that we’d be too dumb to understand nuance so they have to make their point as obtuse as possible.
Coming from the people who have inspired the current Wow writing of GoT, I can only believe they thought the latter season were peak writing.

Game’s demographic is early-mid teens so there’s that.
Bruh…

And yet the writing team take pride in the story, novels and all, as if it was God’s gift to the masses and the people fawning over it aren’t from that demographic most of the time.
They went for the lowest common denominator and it worked up until this patch.
The page doesn’t exist for me. What’s in it please?

Atleast thanks to clicking on that tweet from Danuser I instead ended up on the twitter of Patty Mattson, Sylvanas’ voice actress. And you know she genuinly seems like a kind woman, and I find it funny how she doesn’t even need sound effects to sound like Sylv. But it does make me wonder how she feels about the story and the direction they’ve taken Sylvanas in. I assume VA’s don’t have much input on the story or the dialogue, but I’d be interested in hearing her thoughts on a character she has voiced for years now.
Yeah, if there ever was a litmus test for someone to get into writing or if they have decent taste, have them watch the entire series and see if they think season 8 was good.

I’ve found that following twitter links directly often don’t work for me until I refresh them thrice. Not sure what causes it, but might’ve been that for you.
Try reloading it (page refresh, not Twitter’s own refresh) a few times.

A’right I’ll keep that in mind.
Also, if Blizzard wanted to keep this expansion somehow the slightest more interesting than WoD, they simply could have hold onto their promise and added more customization options for every patch.
If it was just customizations alone, that’d be a win, instead of this BS asinine Shards of Domination which totally are like Tier Sets don’t you know.

VA work is another area that is ‘hilariously’ under-Unionised. One of those where blacklists seem to be common practice, and if you want to actually earn I would likely bet on it just being “Deal with whatever script they put down, and hope its not terrible.”

Now you remind me of that one scene from the Dictator , only change “civil rights” with “worker rights.”
“Worker rights, what are those?”
“Eh, tell you later, they’re hilarious.” - Blizzard right now.

So this is what they tried so hard to conceal all this time? Look, this doesn’t answer anything, nor does it add context or weight, especially after the raid.
They really need to think again about how they want to release stuff in the future.

That Sylvanas redemption/forgiveness arc could not be more blatantly stated and it makes me happy I already quit, but it’s also drastically lowering my chances of coming back.
Honestly one of the worst written characters in modern fiction.
