PTR Spoiler/Discussion Thread (Part 1)

Early humanity collectively grumble at you from the steppes.

Sure but… it was literally mentioned once in a Golden novel (Who doesn’t have a great track record for consistency, remember Genn’s tail?) and there was NO mention of them in-game. At all. Ever. Not even once afaik.

You’d think a counterpart to the Earth Mother would be brought up a lot more. Not even mentioned in Chronicles or the recent fairy tale novel or-

ngl, I found the whole idea of a Sky-Father pretty bad

@ss, esp since with the whole Earth-Mother(titan-spirit of Azeroth) being a thing alongside An’she(which doesn’t exist) and Mu’sha(which does exist, but is a NElf diety).

I had hoped atleast something would be Tauren-only/bound.

No. none of it is cool. But I rather have them declare it all non-canon and conjure up a proper afterlife book then… This nonsense/mess.

Edit: You know the Kaldorei Pantheon hasn’t been brought up more then once in a novel aswell; but for some Night Elf RPers, its still considered canon when they RP an Kaldorei Empire Night Elf? D: (even if they did not really expand/discuss it)

Imo after about… ten plus years of a really obscure bit of lore buried in a contracted author’s book going without a single mention in any other form, especially for something pretty significant like religion, you’re free to ditch it.

Here I was, thinking that if x thing of Lore existed… And x thing of Lore wasn’t contradicted by new lore, whatsoever, even after Y years, it would be fair game to use it…

Hell for all I care they call Al’akir the Sky-father (or whatever new Elemental Lord took his place).

There is nothing contradicting the Kaldorei Pantheon or the Tauren Sky-Father, no? So I see no harm done in Tauren’s calling upon the Sky-Father, or even An’she(even if its just the Light within themselves they’re calling upon)… D:

In the same vein as I see no harm done in Night Elf Roleplayers calling upon the Gods or whatever, imho…

edit 3: Please Telaryn, stop argue’ing me with well build comments :frowning:

First Ones = shapers of the cosmos

Wait… So how about the other Pantheons?
None of them had a say in it, and the incapable ones who ordered the Shadowlands, also had a say in ordering the Life-titan/Order-titan/Evil-titan realms?

I’m gonna go ahead and say it

After reading the OP’s melt down over the Grimoire and his inability to get some basic things like Draka’s time of death right and then scream about plotholes by pointing out facts with no actual relevancy to the alleged plot hole, I’m hesitant to take his sweeping statements as fact.

That’s before taking into account that it’s written by a particularly biased and arrogant Broker in light of the revelation in 9.1 that Brokers don’t understand the very concept of mortal life beyond “they give us anima,” I wouldn’t take Ta’lora as an objective source to lose one’s hairline over.

OP claims that ancestral planes don’t exist, every single shaman in existence goes to Ardenweald without a choice in the matter, which is objectively false; we have physically seen the ancestral plane in The Shattering, War Crimes, and Shadowlands Lore Q&A further affirming that ancestral plane does indeed exist and it’s where Durotan’s hunting with the ancestors. I am willing to bet gold that the actual text makes a non-committing vague statement about how souls with a connection to nature can find themselves going to Ardenweald, with typical examples being hunters, druids, and shaman, as 9.1 states that there are infinite afterlives constantly being birthed to existence tailored to every single possible need of mortal souls.

TL;DR: It’s a biased book written by an unreliable narrator trying to give flavour to the current expansion, don’t take it (and OP’s interpretation of it) as objective fact. Just calm down me lads

Tauren are just wrong about a lot of things, including their own history.

Several grey Legion items, relics of antiquity, show hints of the kaldorei troll origins and polytheism via references to loa and such. Crumbling Ceremonial Vestments and a breastplate come to mind. There’s some archaeology piece too, I think.

literally why sell a book about it tho, lol.

Yea, here… I sell my personal headcanon as a Warcraft book because I want to earn money on it instead of posting it on a headcanon-site lol

Wait, you mean in the same vein where Bwomsamdi claimed Saurfang was there… But he really wasn’t?

I mean, akin to how every soul who died in Teldrassil… Should’ve gone to Ardenweald…

I’m still trying to figure out how the Night Elf Blacksmith trainer earned his/her place within Ardenweald instead of… Bastion? Or any other realm…

I’m 100% certain that a Night Elf who can melt metals will be 100% useless in a realm where they… Well Blacksmith without fire. And if they can be retrained… I’m 100% any other race can be aswell including Orcs.

First Ones aren’t the Eternal Ones. They aren’t bound to Death, it seems.

They wanted to do a flavour book relating to the current expansion, and after complaints about Chronicles about how it should have been written by a biased narrator, they made a book written by an unreliable narrator

Yes, though Bwonsamdi told this to Zekhan to give him some comfort instead of disparing about his father issue attachment figure suffering in turbo hell. Bwonsamdi still acknowledges that such an afterlife exists – the lie is that Saurfang didn’t go there. Sylvanas drops his soul as a trinket.

Because every night elf doesn’t automatically go to Ardenweald. Elune sent the (already dead) night elves over in hopes that they’ll help out in Ardenweald, but the Maw got in the way of things.

Disconnected from everything else but these names suck and I am constantly getting which one is which mixed up in my head. You can have one ‘Ones’ group, don’t have two, and especially don’t have one created by the other.

Gonna call the death pantheon the Sepulcrists from now one. It’s a name I just made up.

So basicly the First Ones are Titans 2.0 because Blizztard regret what they did to the Titans, esp as mysterious, godlike, force?

Whelp, seems I missed that part… Apparently? (Not that I don’t belief you, but could you source that? Since I don’t own the book myself :sob:)

makes you wonder if the realm of the Death could do the same otherwise or its a one-way parasitic relationship where one takes and never gives back… Like Elune and the Winter-Queen. No matter how much she complains about her sister, I doubt she could ever do what her sister did for her

So we can have one ‘Ones’ group, but having two ‘Ones’ where one is created by the other One is confusing because the the other one is not the one we usually talk about when we refer to the one who are the actual ‘Ones’

If only. My own posts on these plot hole filling subjects are better even when in jest.

Ankas* who aren’t the creators but nevertheless their existence maintains reality and Wodes** who are tasked with mopping up mortals who get too much spiral power potential before they can threaten the Ankas.

Just as with every other expansion since WoD it gives a perfect opportunity to reset the setting and bring us back down to basic but instead they’ll go bigger and better.

Anyway if you want to read more about the Ankas and Wodes please buy my new fanfiction lorebible now available at all major retailers.

*Mangled ‘Anchors’, because they literally anchor reality.
**Mangled ‘Waves of Destruction’, because like the sea they are an uncaring force.

Why be a one when you can be a five rly

it’s like they know they’re written in a one-star writing

Is deleted from existence

Remember when these things were in-game to read?

Makes you wonder tho’
Elune - for some strange reason, let’s not ask why - not knew the Arbiter went offline and everyone lands in the Maw
BUT
The Arbiter have one job. One. Judge souls and send them to their respective afterlife. Plain and simple
Yet it seems everyone snaching souls from her/it… Bwonsamdi with the Trolls, the Legion with the soul engines, Warlocks, necromancers… now Elune tired to go behind the Arbiter’s back “sending” those souls in to Ardenweald to help her sis
Or… she simply lied to big sis, “yeeeeah, I totally heard you girl… sent a gift but the post office made an oooopsie and you never recived it. I never forget your birthday… not me, nuh-uh”
So someone is lying… big time
Someone everyone
You get a soul and you get a soul and you get a soul?
