It’s very orc centric, but then the colours… the colours!
It may be orc centric but it is still hideous.
These are god damn terrible lol. I dont think it will make anyone come back to the game
True and I agree tbh
Shaman have quite a few nice sets, fitting ones too.
Hunters’ are… adjective.
Also, with testing still moving forward, I’m still hopeful for a release within the next few weeks.

We still treat our employees like trash, BUT we added a different robe to one painting, AND made a scantily clad lady in one painting into a fruitbowl. Priorities.
(also, does anyone still even look at paintings? I can’t remember when I last looked at them!)
Except reworking doodads is much easier than reworking your entire company. And you can do both at the same time.
It’s a good change imo, and many of these baby steps can come together for a better step in general towards less sexist imagery and content in WoW.
Their priorities are so vapid. The harassing and employee mistreatment doesn’t come from those few pixels but from actual people. Anyone with a brain can see this for what it is… A pointless move.
Now allow me to return to FF where the Big Mommy Milkers aren’t seen as a something bad.
I don’t mind them doing this. No one was really asking for it but it doesn’t bother me either.
My eyes are still on the real change, though, because this is not it. People better keep up the pressure until Blizzard runs out of convenient options to escape the negative attention.
I worry it’s not gonna stop at portraits. I’ll be extremely angry if they start censoring in-game outfits. I don’t wanna lose the appearances of my Ahn’qiraj dresses or other transmogs as they are now.
If you consider such paintings sexist, I wouldn’t invite you into a art gallery. Or the majority of museums for that matter.
On the one hand, I am with you on this. On the other hand… what if Blizzard later on decides that bieng able to transmog your chest piece invisible showing cleavage/barechest is too sexualised too?
We’re on a sliding scale and I feel it’s slowly starting to slide the wrong way while keeping out real change.
I’m just walking around Dalaran now, looking at portraits and I noticed one portrait with human female wearing warrior starter gear chest piece that seems to accentuate the shape of her breasts, should that be removed too?
Honestly, this is a change I am not so certain about. I could get behind the logic of some (if not many) of the changes, but this?
This feels like taking it way too far. They are trying to win back player favour by any means they can. Upsetting actual players by taking away their transmog will just cause yet more uproar. I imagine even Blizzard is not stupid enough to try such a thing - nor will they ever risk doing so, no matter whether WoW survives this time or not.
The slippery slope is a fallacy and for good reason. Each change has its own merits and drawbacks.
Remember. Blizzard knows what the players want. They have shown this very well in recent weeks. They are just trying to get away with giving as little as possible.
wow isn’t an art gallery though ?
sexualizing female characters to serve the purpose of horny men is imo sexist, esp if the paintings also reference paintings that were made to showcase the power of the man in the household or something something ?
+ this was a lot easier to do than model changes of armour
the new HD pics are fine (better) lmao
I made a forum thread in the PTR forums about this if anyone wants to comment and voice their concerns. It’s important we speak our minds about this incase Blizzard start going too far.
Is it tho? THey went from “[female dog] feels weird in WoW because it was never said before and has real life meaning” too “Greenskin got removed, no explanation ”
Fair enough, I am still not convinced, especially because the picture they did change was the one that referenced real life art.
Not talking about female characters tho, I mean for them it makes sense to wear armor, be protected, hence why you didn’t hear me when Jaina got a proper breast armor, or Sylvanas was properly armored (heck, my own two female characters are dressed from head to toe in robes or armor!).
Assumptions, there’s quite a few cases of “sexualised” art that was painted, sculpted or made by women. (That chinese women artist sculpting a basicly naked western women from stone comes to mind).
Edit: Sorry for slow replays, am both raiding and at work!
Yes, because going from that to removing player transmog or appearance options is a big step there is no reason to be scared they will take.
Because as said. They are trying to dodge anger, not generate it. They can’t afford anything else.
u know i was a bit ambivalent about it but with this in mind if they’re gonna improve the visual quality of some mogs and make them less absolutely embarrassing i HUGELY support this move
There’s every reason to be scared they will take that step if they think they can get goodwill points back by removing the option to mog your chest item invisible.
It’s not like Blizzard has never gone back on decisions they made before.
It’ll be a balancing act then, huh? Wether they think people’ll be more outraged at the removal of potentional “sexualising” appearance or will support it.
I for one am not certain that the transmog group will “win” that.
Edit: Look, not saying you guys are wrong or not making good points, or that Blizzard will take that step. I’m just… uncertain or whatever that they’ll stop at this instead of eventually going all out and removing anything that can be construed as “sexualising” a character, game, art, NPC etc.
They absolutely will, because they are the actual players. Most of the people clamouring for such a thing don’t even play this game.
Paintings are one thing. I played this game for nearly ten years and I hardly looked at them. Transmog gear, transmog gear that isn’t unpopular at that, is another matter entirely.
Now, speaking for myself skimpy gear isn’t my style and if they were replaced I would shed no tears. But I am in no way expecting that to happen.
I wish I had that much faith in Blizzard to be fair.
It’s not my style either, hence why my draenei wears the full Lightforged Sharpshooter or Rangari armor, and my blood elf wears the Mythic Suramar robes.
That said, I would oppose the removal of any transmogs.
