The mac’areena joke was deserving of deletion on day 1.

Some of these don’t come across as offensively suggestive as much as potentially racially insensitive in a very uptight american cultural context.

So it’s axed.

Just like bones in chinese WoW, to be laughed at by everyone not soaked in a particular culture.

But what is racially insensitive about that joke? Referencing rappers? I don’t know what sort of mindset one must have to see anything racial there, let alone iffy.

The fact that you can’t see it: is 100% part of the issue as far as I’m concerned.

Yeah. He told me to tie her up and do whatever I wanted to her… so I took her stereo!

Stereo means “both channels”. Left, and right. Both ways.

The fact that this blatant sexism is downright celebrated and questioned when removed shows how extremely jaded people have become to the sheer idea of objectifying and sexualizing women. It had been a mild improvement to write them in the line instead, but the fact you don’t see the issue at all with this context and the suggestion that one man told the other man to TIE HER UP and -TAKE- “her” both ways …?

Good grief, friend.

Basically. A bunch of these soon to be cut lines show a uniquely american anxiety.

Or… it could mean that the goblin in question, as befitting to a goblin, instead of doing something gross chose to steal her radio, which is very commonly referred to as stereo.

… You’re not the shapest blade at the smithy, are you?

That is the suggestion. That is the joke. It is meant to suggest both.

It is a double entendre.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_entendre

Which is part of the issue. The need for these people to have written jokes that straight up jokes and has a double-meaning of taking a woman “two-ways”, potentially against their will.

And you seem unable to resist insulting people.

I know what double meaning is. However I never heard “stereo” used in a way you present it, nor did a quick Google search reveal anything either. I think this joke was meant to be taken literally and you’re digging too deep.

Jesus, calm down. I’ve never heard of it either, I can’t find anything referring to it online. I guess if you look hard enough at anything it becomes an innuendo, which seems to be the case here.

How did you find it?

You are truly our brave hero and we commend you for your service. But I’m afraid I must disappoint Judge Dredd here, by saying that I actually don’t mind this particular joke being removed, just not for the reasons you bring up. :pensive:

Yeah idk mate, Blizzard was revealed to have been pretty gross and its really not hard to imagine them putting in a joke as gross as you’re showing here, but I, in all honestly, think you’re reaching here.

Ah, I see you’re a bit of a whacky one. Well, I think the joke was inappropriate in the first place, regardless of whether it had a double meaning in the 2nd half or not, so I personally won’t lament its removal, but the extra malice you ascribe to it I feel was pulled out of nowhere. And then calling everyone who didn’t see the same meaning as you sexists is a very  moment.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone use the word stereo in this context ever.
I can’t find it being used like that either…
Are you sure this is an actual thing?

Including thrall who ages at the rate of his VA?

The mac’areena joke was just that horrifically bad and unfunny that I wanted it gone regardless.

Yes. That’s actually part 2 of the things I want purged:

All RTS Warcraft legacy characters.

They have not contributed a single positive thing to the story in 2 expansions despite being the only people that matter throughout. Ash 'em.

The dilemma is that introducing new characters will anger the Gamers stubbornly making up the dwinding playerbase, triggering lengthy rants about mary sues, essjays ruining games and whatever else. You simply cannot push a new character without significant backlash. Just look at Yrel, gutted story aside.

Yeah but it’s not like they’re pushing old characters without backlash either.

Might as well just nuke the main cast because the writing team clearly isn’t actually interested in them, and it really shows in their, well, everything?

We both know there is not a single reality in which blizzard does anything and there won’t be some goblins going on about the essjays andsoforth, anyway.

Ideally, I want them so offended that they either leave or deal with it if such petty things is what dictates their enjoyment of the game.
