Last time we got a “back to basics” expansion it ended with us blowing up an old god with a giant titan laser.
So uh
wouldn’t put too much any faith in the Ion’s weaselwords

There won’t be an 9.3. Not because it’s a wreck of an expansion, even if that pays a huge part, but because they went their financial goodness from 2022, a release of 10.0 in November next year or December. I’m doubtful they’ll even manage to release OW2 next year either so they’ll prolly want to rush it out ASAP.
Skipping a 9.2.5 or maybe not have a Pre-patch month at all.
I’m kinda half and half on wanting a 9.3. It -might- mean we get out of Shadowlands faster, and they can divert the resources to the next expansion like they did with WoD to Legion. But then, despite how much of a hit and miss Shadowlands has been, committing it to WoD levels of cuts will only ruin it more.
Preferably for me, I’d have 9.2 deal with Anduin attacking Azeroth, specifically Stormwind. Take us home for a patch and have Anduin do something actually memorable that’ll leave lasting consequences, instead of throwing him into the final raid as a penultimate boss that accomplished nothing but stabbing an angel-lady and glaring at everyone. Then 9.3 can finish Zovaal and after that we leave the cosmic expansions behind.
Whether we get a 9.3 or not, it seems we’re going to be stuck in Shadowlands until at least late 2022 or early 2023.
No escapes the Shadowlands!
Bails to join FF14 during Wow lack of content.
A game director LYING about their product!? No waaaay… that’s unheard of…
It’s the same thing every time with Blizzard.
Add feature.
People complain about feature.
Condescending interview pertaining to feature, saying they’re not removing it.
They remove it in the .2 or .3 patch.
“Oopsie poopsie payers, we shoulda listened to you! We’ll do it next time we promise!”
See step 1.
They did that too much, or didn’t included the fun part. Don’t get me wrong, Legion had some issues much in the same vein as what Shadowlands and BfA had.
Legion’s difference is that it had content at a regular pace and most of it was GOOD, Novel even (for wow). I stuck through Legion from start to ending and the only content I haven’t done from that expansion was Archeology and fishing when it was current, the rest was all entertaining to engage in.
Will these also be sent straight to the shredder?
Cynicism aside, if there are results coming from this and rapid adaptation towards the information communicated from the players, it will be for the best. It would be nice not having to wait until the next 2-3 patches to see a fix that would desperately improve the game.
Let’s just hope it won’t be full of Blizzard Andies willing to say anything pleasing to their overlords.
Didn’t they already have a secret forum for feedback and then it turned out all the devs were like “lmao shut up nerd you don’t know what you’re talking about we know better than you”
this is my chance to own danuser majorly with the lore
this is what reading The Last Guardian for 17 times has led us to
I will get my hat in that ring!
My desire for more emotes, stronger story and customisation is real.
“Once players are selected, they’ll be given the ability to post in a new discussion forum that is publicly visible to everyone.”
So, they can’t pull any rudeness or they may get shanked.
There was and it all started with Xelnath putting together a warlock player feedback circle to fine-tune the MoP warlock rework until it was perfection incarnate.
Then he got laid off for doing this primarily with player input and not based on what his coworkers or managers said.
This sure inspires trust and confidence as to the future of that Community Council.
Yeah my “shut up nerd” thing was referencing a vaguely remembered thing in Legion-era (alpha/beta time?) where feedback was offered on some paladin stuff and it just got shut down entirely.
Time proved the players right because that’s how karma works.
Perhaps this time it will be different. Maybe there’s been sufficient rumblings.
But still X to doubt.
Doubt is healthy with the blue overlords and their hidden masters.
I give it one year of Blizzard listening to the community thing, a decent expansion comes out, their heads grow too big again thinking they’ve got the groove back, they start ignoring the community guys or only listen to the sycophants and back to square one.
A lot of Patch 9.1.5 came from a little hackathon. The team just took some time and did whatever they thought would make the game more fun, finding areas that have been a long pain points for the community.
So… give the team some time to do whatever they want and we get alot of customisation options? New transmogs? Skips for stories and alt-friendliness?
Why do they need a team hackathon when most of 9.1.5 is basically what players have been asking for since SL beta?
Well, that cost nothing to try. Worse come of it, you’ve forced a poor dev (or more likely a cm, poor sod) to look at your fanart/text/video/else.
can the writing team do a little write-a-ton and replace shadowlands lore with something better too pls
red shirt guy moment coming up on the community council when telaryn hits the mic
