PTR Spoiler/Discussion Thread (Part 1)

The only way forward for them at this point that makes sense.

I am genuinely surprised by how much the writing made me hate Sylvanas, I did not mind her much when she had this background schemer role. Cata of all things was okay when it came to her, and then ever since Legion I can’t stomach the character.

Inb4 the Jailer "Enough"s us at the end of the fight, tries to remake reality but suddenly Sylvanas martyrs herself into whatever McGuffin the fight will be taking place at, reshaping Azeroth in her vision that turns out all sunshine and rainbows because we clearly got outplayed by her, even the Jailer made her a pawn, while being a pawn herself!

Then Tyrande says that she was wrong to hate her, because Teldrassil looked kinda tacky on all the post cards she was sending Illidan.

I think the word you’re looking for is “reborn”. You know, like such an old realm should be.

A good idea in theory.
Completely useless with the current writers and system designers.
It would just be a new landscape with new quests, but of the same quality.

After an acceptable night’s sleep, with a clear head I can safely say that the next patch doesn’t cause enthusiasm nor a strong dislike for it.

Apathy man, nothing but apathy. The last dose of Hopium I’m holding onto is for the 10.0 patch to be Dragon Isles and giving Azeroth some well deserved spotlight.

Why do so many people hope for this? Like, what about Dragon Isles is suppose to save wow? And what difference does it make where expansion is set when it’s still written by the esteemed group that brought you shadowlands?

I honestly do not care for the dragon Isles or any dumb dragon related plot. I just want a vanilla-esque wide-ranging assortment of threats, none of them linked by some cosmic super villain or eldritch corruption. With a backdrop of cold War and opportunistic skirmishes between the factions.

gah of course how could i not think of that one!
Thanks

As long as its not Reforged :pensive:

yeah…
Atleast the models look good…but that won’t save it.
I do wonder if they ever would have added new Units like Vulpera Scavengers or Mechagnome Zappers…if they would have had the ability to “reforge” and not just well what ever it was they did…

Oh well back to 9.2 / 10.0 stuff
waves her Hozen/Jinyu/Ogres flag

Because it’s the last known place in the Wow map that doesn’t require you to read into the thousands mysteries of the firstest ones who elaborated the cosmos before the dark beyond. The worst it can possibly get on a cosmic level is making it about the Titans, Uldaz and other Ulds… Or a joke Island like Tel’abim.

Idk man, Dragon do be here since vanilla and didn’t demand you to have read 10 books to get it.

Well, tell that to Ion and Danuser, however.

So, let’s just accept we’re all on some level of Hopium laced with cynicium.

They sure do by now

Not me I’m just in a state of acceptance.

Honestly I’ve been stuck in the wage cage and busy with some irl stuff so I’ve not really played much for a fair while and I don’t feel like I’ve really missed out in anything. And looking at this new stuff I feel like i’ not going to miss out on anything in the future either.

Understandable, good luck in the wage cage man.

I mean, sure. But we know little to nothing about Dragon Isles, so you may aswell ask them to make pogger Islands and it wouldn’t make much difference. And like I said, with the current team working on the game, no matter where you set the expansion, it’s still gonna suck. Going away from the cosmic stuff would certainly be good, but that solves only like 20% of overall problem.

Not for me

Big true.

We knew nothing of Pandaria and for the most part was considered a joke race until we got a pretty good expansion out of it.

Now this argument only work with the team of the past. The current one is more enclined to highjack and like a parasite inject itself into their betters’ work.

So it is as you say. Cosmic stuff isn’t exactly the root problem but a symptom. Incompetence and mismanagement of their ressource definitely is.

To clarify, the fact that we know very little of dragon Isles isn’t an inherently bad thing. My point was that there is nothing really about them specifically that would make them stand out when compared to, well anything they pull out of their :peach:

The more we learn about WoW dragons the more cursed it gets so I’d rather not have an entire expansion dedicated to them.

Yeah truth be told I don’t want an expansion about the sexual assault lizards.
