PTR Spoiler/Discussion Thread (Part 1)

I’mma speculate Sylvanas jumps into the big engine thingy to disrupt Zovaal’s reorigination of the multiverse. Big redemption moment for the mortal world’s biggest monster, sexy squidward’s weird nipples get twisted and all the bad is reset.

Player wakes up a better world. As defined by danuser, though so it’s not really a happy ending. Lots of character roles are changed and reversed, Sylvanas is alive and I have to stop myself.

O wouldn’t mind a soft reboot, a gentle time skip and so on.

With Danuser at the helm though it’ll be absolutely diabolical.

No matter what arguably better direction the story will go, with him at the helm, always assume the worst possible version.

Let’s not bring Mass Effect’s 3 worst ending here please.

I didn’t even think of that but yes, exactly.

Con: existence is still torment.

Pro: uhh…

She speaks

Then the Void Lords warp their realm to Azeroth orbit by tethering it to the reorigination machine, but Khadgar fixes everything and sends them back with a well-timed pistol shot.

Yes that sounds about right.

I woke up with a really dumb realisation. If Zereth Mortis so super advanced and everything, why in the heck are the mini robot people using pickaxes to mine rocks? Shouldn’t they have some kind of a magical drill or something?

Asmongold’s coverage of this patch summed it up for me. Compared to 7.3 this patch is super visually underwhelming. Looked out at Argus and seeing Azeroth made me think “wow, this looks like WoW 2.”

Then it asked me to kill 10 demons and I knew I was still in WoW 1.

I can actually forgive that as machines built to last for an eternity of labour would need to be able to operate basic tools for tasks rather than a delicate laser drill.

What I shan’t forgive is using the 2004 model pickaxe.

I know I already replied to this but Golden just wrote a thing clarifying it further so I may as well just link to that tweet threads, because I know some others have questioned it before:

Man, these people really seem to have an ego the size of the diameter of the Jailers nipples. They really love themselves and everything they’ve done so much. They pat themselves on the back with every tweet they write. My god, as if they’ve created some awe-inspiring expansion with mind-blowing story telling that is hyping up the minds of people from all across the world-…

Yeah no Christie, you could’ve written a thousand short stories, novellas, comics, novels, etc. along with getting 500 degrees, having produces 50 games and a thousand books.

I have a unique connection to WoW ofc. over 20 yrs.

Yeah so do most people here however we’re not the ones getting paid, instead we’re paying Blizzard and have the game and its story originating from the ancient days of Warcraft - being absolutely dumped upon.

Varian Wrynn is rolling in his grave.

what are you even talking about

Don’t they have a draenor pickaxe anyway?

It’s the vibe I got from the 9.2 video and their (and her) tweets in general. Like the tweet from one of the system designers some time ago.

‘‘they dont know all the cool stuff i’m making’’

???

Okay. Cool. More systems? More BfA-tier design? More M+ affixes? It just goes on. ‘‘we really did a good job’’ repeat x20

Like yeah I’m sure, they did a good job. It’s what they get paid for. The patch isn’t even out yet and in the end it is the way how things get received by the players. They will decide whether they did a good job or not, seeing as its a product they are making for people who paid for the game, paid for the expansion, and pay a monthly sub.

Is it going to be another year of people saying that the wholesome art and graphical design team carried the expansion? Cause even Zereth Mortis doesn’t look that incredible, along with the epic job of making 12 different class sets - and making them all look the same. Ah well at least we get to see never-before seen water.

It’s the same model.

Golden tweeted about how she didn’t know 90% of what was happening in 9.2 and was surprised at a lot of it. People got all !!!??? because “she’s a wow writer, shouldn’t she know?” (she’s not, as she’s said multiple times, basically every time new news comes out)
She then clarified this again (which I linked), restating her position within blizzard, and telling people to not get mad at blizz because she wasn’t told about where the story was going.

And from that incredibly innocuous and reasonable position, you decided to go off about how she’s got a massive ego and she’s “patting herself on the back” in a weirdly unhinged rant completely disconnected from anything she talked about.

Touch grass or something god damn.
