And aponi became such a HMP superfan that you may well mistake her for a female high elf
No worries tho, in bfa these orders are pvping again without any lore given
Yeah, that was bad. It could be worse, though.
Imagine if the Earthmother was depicted as a leafy human or something! Wouldn’t that be wacky?
Chad Turalyon taking control of the Silver Hand for the purpose of Alliance warfare
“why do you think we founded the damn thing in the first place”
That would be a SIGHT TO SEE. And I would love it. Turalyon is roughly the last character who is NOT just another Anduin.
The monkey’s paw curls a finger…
The renegade Alliance paladin, now vagabond, has lost his connection to the Light for his heinous acts against the Horde. It now falls to you to kill him.
Turalyon the Disgraced world boss coming to you in 10.0: Rise of the Robots. Also a world boss for Alliance for reasons depicted in a $20 book.
It’s…already part of the Alliance warfare?
Like yes it’s a bit confusing because there’s the Lordaeron silver hand (which got folded into the Argent Crusade) and the Stormwind/Ironforge silver hand (which is and has always been Alliance) but it ain’t that confusing
Comes across to me as more of a “stop wasting time with drama, let’s go!” but in the context of previous cinematics of supposedly being conflicted, maybe…
More an assuption, I gather as it’s been a part of her story since WC3 that she hates her cursed existence and more recently had these vauge allusions to change. She’s the sort of character that’d backspace her undeath arc to be free.
Nope, and participating in the pulping of eleventy brazillion souls across all worlds just makes it worse.
Tear it all down because flaws, therefore villain, no long term plan beyond it while the good guys try to preserve the status quo is still very american. Freedom, yes, but not like that…
She gets to explain maybe 2% at her trial to seem a tiny bit less dense, I suppose.
Let’s meet halfway and say it’s moderately confusing, which is way more confusing than it should be since the game never really bothers to separate the two, and even if they did they would have to at some point acknowledge the fact that the Silver Hand and Argent Crusade would technically be in open conflict after the Arathi battlefront and oh dear it’s confusing again.
In a perfectly logical world I don’t think the Argent Crusade felt entirely comfortable with their Horde members actively supporting a warchief who saturated the entire northwest corner of Kalimdor with blight and detonated an entire world tree for what at the time appeared to be for the lols and quietly asked them to please leave the tabards at the door.
Why would they be? The Argents weren’t at Arathi.
Well on the one hand, if you’re part of the Argent Crusade are you part of the Alliance/Horde?
On the other hand, we see Earthen Ring fighting alongside the Horde in BfA iirc so guess it wasn’t that big of a dealbreaker
I guess considering Baine was fine with it, nuking NElves is okay.
Darkness cannot abide within the Light (yeah they’re blood elves but I’m petty and everyone’s guilty by association).
Blood Knights aren’t Argents either? I know Liadrin is the Last Ashbringer but that doesn’t make her an Argent.
Basically the new Silver Hand was made up of a gaggle of different paladin orders, two of which started fighting each other in Arathi (Turalyon’s Silver hand and Liadrin’s Blood Knights) so either they were both expelled in which case we have two active Silver Hands or the Blood Knights were expelled and would be posed against the Argent Crusade, still part of the Silver Hand (but not the other Silver Hand), or the Silver Hand was expelled from the Silver Hand and is in conflict with the Argent Crusade which would still be part of the Silver hand (not Turalyon’s Silver Hand).
(does the Argent Crusade still even exist or was it entirely reformed (deformed?) into the new Silver Hand?)
Didn’t really think it was that hard to explain, but okay, step by step.
In Vanilla there were two organisations, Silver Hand Lordaeron (SHL) and Silver Hand Stormwind (SHS), the former of which was basically defunct. At the same time, the Argent Dawn was vibing in the plaguelands. SHS was always Alliance aligned.
Come Wrath, Tirion does his Light of Dawn speech and fuses the SHL remnants with the Argent Dawn and creates the Argent Crusade. Honestly this is more a change in name than any actual organisational thing, since as noted the SHL was basically defunct as an organisation.
Cataclysm rolls around and the quests there show clearly that SHS is still active and still Alliance aligned (duh), and not much else of note.
Legion hits and the class hall orders start up. The Paladin one encompasses the Argent Crusade, Blood Knights, Hand of Argus, SHS and anyone else who feels like it I guess. This united paladin army is called the Silver Hand, but as is pretty evident from the tabards on display the old organisations weren’t defunct or removed, they were simply joined together temporarily for the sake of fighting the Burning Legion. A thing they didn’t have to do after Legion, at which point the Silver Hand class hall broke up again and everyone went their separate ways (as did most class hall orders - it’s not like paladins were an exception to this rule).
You seem to be under the impression the Legion-era Silver Hand still exists; it doesn’t. SHS still exists.
Also I guess Ironforge is included in SHS but nobody plays dwarves so
Yes of course it exists? Why wouldn’t it?
I like how delving into this makes it like the Silver Hand/Light Order situation in Warcraft could be developed into it’s own universe’s version of Reformation.
Except it was 100% never intended and it’s just the fault of the writers forgetting/not caring again.
The kicker is that this is never stated anywhere (for any of the Order Halls really), we just never hear anything again about them because the writers never bothered. I added the final question because I cannot find any reference to the Argent Crusade since Legion ended. The Silver Hand and the Blood Knights just show up in Arathi and start duking it out and Turalyon makes it sound like Liadrin has committed like a primordial sin for simply using the Light.
If the Argent Crusade formed from remnants of Silver Hand, and then they reform the Silver Hand it seems a bit redundant to keep the Argent Crusade around. On top of that, the Silver Hand only really speaks to the Alliance factions, like why would a sunwalker give a fig about the second war efforts of the Silver Hand? Unless like Vixi says you explore this fraction in a story of its own like the Argent Dawn and Brotherhood of Light schism. Which they won’t.

Case rested.
Well, no, because the Argent Crusade’s mission is notably different to the SHS’s mission. The Argent Dawn/Crusade members seemingly left the Alliance/Horde to be part of the Dawn/Crusade.
They don’t, just like the Hand of Argus doesn’t. It’s just a name for a famous paladin order. It’s not that deep.
Made in Slands before I quit WoW.
I can get out my 2 level 50 dwarves but neither are paladins.
This is a Dwarf thread now.
