A spherical progenitor robot? Let’s ready the Spartan Lasers.

Remember Gul’dan’s Shadow Orb that Maiev had? Well this is the AU Version: The Crimson Orb.
Expect to see more Orbs in the future.

Being a master of deception.

Also she is a master of deception: since Edge of Night she’s been a double agent working to undermine him in secret.

Just pull the infinity gauntlet on WoW atrocious lore right now.

I want when Night Elves were fierce warrior-women rather than the punching bag

I want when the Orcish Horde were the brutal, but honorable warrior society.

I want when the Blood Elves were the down-on-their-luck race but strove to rebuild themselves.

I want the Human Kingdoms when they were flawed societies bound by nationalistic intrest but had leaders that strove for the best.

I want well-written antagonisists for whose motives you clearly understood.

I want that gritty world in which war was rife and genocide was not forgiven but complex and a motivation to conflict.

I want Ashenvale & Gilneas restored damn it.

But noooooo. Thanks Blizzard for ruining the lore I used to love :sob:

When you really want a Dragon Isles expansion but realise it’ll be made by Danuser and the Axis of Inconsistency in their traditional style of copying expansions but bigger and worse

  • World of Warcraft: Apocalypse
  • Murozond’s emergence from the timeways breaks Azeroth (we’re never told how this happens)
  • Barrens split into quarters
  • Inflamminfernaros attacks Hyjal from the Primal Magmalands
  • Chronal Cult, who have been the masterminds behind the Twilight Hammer all along and manipulated them into freeing the Old Gods so they could drive Nozdormu insane in the future/past/future again
  • Final Raid is World Soul, where we fight Murozond’s head inside Azeroth’s core
  • Expansion ends with Aspects becoming amnesiacs

can someone explain to me why everyone is wanting dragon isles

Not me, the only cool dragon stories was the black dragonflies trying to take over human Kingdoms and the nexus war was OK.

Do not care for dragons tbh

dragons

Seriously though: Cool looking villains still left out there involving dragons with Murozond and Chromatus, a fix for the totally unnecessary act of having dragons become infertile following Deathwing’s defeat, and overall represents a more traditional fantasy expansion with potential for very diverse zones.

because they have forgotten what dragon writing is like.

I pray they do not get the reminder they so yearn for.

man i sure love seeing really skimpily clad female elf dragons and their consorts

Not to mention the stuff that seems to keep happening to female dragons.

it’s robots all the way down baby

gods, men, monsters, player customizations

A combination of

and that it’s the last sliver of “ooh, what’s this?” lore on Azeroth that wasn’t wholesale made up for an expansion like shadowlands is, in that it existed in one form or another a decade and a half ago before being scrapped.

Of course outside of the name it is basically going to be all made up by the current writing team so…

a soulless robot has more customization than dark iron dwarves, a race who have been in WoW for eons

yeah, let that sink in for a bit

:no_mouth:

It’s the last cope. The final copium. The last area on Azeroth that we ‘‘know’’ of that hasn’t really been explored yet. I think that if blizz would have wanted us to go there they would have already added it. Like, they already put 3 expansion themes and major plots in 1 expansion, if they wanted they could’ve crammed the dragon isles in there too.

And I don’t know how much more wacky dragon lore I can take. I believe we had enough of that in like Cataclysm and such.

Honestly, there’s so many threads of story left over from both Vanilla and Cataclysm’s overhaul that you could carry a good couple of Vanilla/TBC-esque expansions* without needing to resort to this cosmic crud. Alas, Blizzard is too much of a coward to retire old dungeons to the caverns of time and update them on the world map (e.g Dire Maul potentially being colonised by nelves/highborne or SM being taken by the Forsaken) and too creatively bankrupt to generate new ones.

*Numerous different threats, not necessarily linked by one over-arching narrative.

tel abim IS the dragon isle

introducing the most powerful, oldest dragonflight, that is the progenitor of all other dragonflights, but that we never heard anything about before now

the true purpose of the infinite dragonflight was to manipulate the timelines so that we discovered their more powerful and illusive kin that were being hidden from us
