PTR Spoiler/Discussion Thread (Part 1)

more and more coming around to this POV
“but elly just stop reading it”
look I didn’t say I’m not a hypocrite

I don’t even seek it out but it’s unavoidable honestly. It just leads to people ripping things out of their context, getting hyped for stuff that’ll never happen, and spoiling themselves and those around them for a story that already needs all the generosity it can get from its audience.

datamining can take a long walk off a short pier

They opened the Pandora’s box. I hardly see them pulling a FF14 and not needing to have datamining in place or even PTRs.

Let’s be real, we players are the unpaid QA staff but also ignored… Until the money and numbers go down.

What gives you the idea the playerbase isnt still being ignored?

The developers still treat their customers like idiots and children. They are still adding timegated content and another borrowed power feature. They are still going ahead with defecating all over the setting. They are still tightlipped and notoriously inactive regarding the entire player council nonsense.

Alright just lemme start with Snorts lines of copium

Absolutely nothing really. All I’ve seen so far are retro-active acknowledgements that players were right (again) and that the morons in charge are indeed out of touch with what the community want. That’s acknowledgement and being listened to, however this is the same BS we’ve been doing since Legion, I’m practically uninterested in their Mea Culpa.

Now, this here is gonna be the most good faith I’m ever gonna put towards them but I’m just gonna say that it’s a bit insincere to expect that MMOs not having grind or time-gating, it’s a matter of execution. 5.2 Isle of Thunder was time-gating but you had an impact in it on how fast it would come and wasn’t coupled with your access to raiding (do correct me if I’m wrong).

The Cypher thing, from what I remember is only giving you perks for Zereth activities and if I was to again give a good faith argument Snorts premium copium changing their philosophy and even principles mid/late-expansion as they’re dealing with the :poop: fest ongoing. However I perfectly acknowledge that as a customer, you won’t settle for such an excuse and I encourage you not to.

Them ruining the lore ain’t even a point I’m gonna fight you on, not for 9.2, not for 10.0 so long as Danuser and his team are in charge. This here is where I’ll be forever cynical about.

They’ve done some positive changes as they do now (what used to be normal) dev posts. Small changes, it’s unfortunate it took this to get there but credit where credit is due. You’ll have to be patient for the rest.

All and all, I’ve already binned Shadowlands as the mediocre expansion that it is. I could do my very best to point out the positives and the acceptable moves being taken but it’s all just surrounded by the awful majority that it’s easy to ignore. 10.0, as far as I think it is, is the last shred of Hopium I’m holding onto… And not on the story side, just on the PVE. I just want fun things to do ingame like in Legion. I’m not asking for a 10/10 expansion, I’ll settle for a 7.5/10 or an 8.

So let me get this straight. These guys have texts detailing the future and how bad it’s gonna get… And they choose not to do anything about it why?

Grind sure but ff14 manages just fine without forced timegates and nonstop borrowed power

Turns out if you don’t waste time on annoying systems no one wants you can actually update and expand the classes.
Crazy.

Believe me I’d be a happy man without time-gating.

i mean, since it’s the future there’s nothing you can do, as it’s going to happen right?

Literally every time:

Alpha: This system sucks.

Devs: “Just try it! It’ll get better!”

Beta: This system still sucks.

Devs and Taliesin: “oi oi juwst troi it guvna itll be rly guhd”

0.: System sucks.

Devs: “Well it’s already in game and nobody told us it sucks.”

.1: System still sucks.

Devs: “Well, we’re not changing it. Here’s a really awkward interview with a youtuber where we waste their time and say we’re not changing it at all.”

.2: System sucks but they’ve begun to listen a little.

Devs: “We should have listened at the start, we’re wewwy sowwy…”

.3: System is such a non-issue that people are having fun with it.

Devs: “We understand that the system wasn’t good and from here on out we’ll be more receptive to your feedback.”

Alpha: This system sucks.

Devs: “Just try it! It’ll get better!”…

They didn’t day when!

People recognize the pattern now, they will be extra attentive to it. I doubt detecting a whiff of bad systems making it into beta will yield results, it’s likely even gonna push canceled pre-ordering and even those aren’t gonna be in high numbers considering how little faith people now put into Blizzard.

Or maybe I’m talking nonsense, thinking myself a big brain capable of predicting human reaction. I’ve already seen how little it takes to make people cheer in this game.

She did Bad because revenge, turning lordaeron and the forsaken into her personal death cult bent on vengeance, a weapon against Arthas and Arrows In Her Quiver. Then Arthas was beaten before she could get to him, so unlife had no more meaning and she killed herself.

Then she joined Zovaal and did Worse.

Forgetting this chronology in her story arc when writing her should be a firable offence.

“Controlled by Zovaal, Dausegne leads the mawsworn in a battle to gain control of the Forge of Afterlives. With its power, The Jailer will be able to create an eternity of torment.”

From the dungeon journal. What does this even mean? “An eternity of torment” could mean a lot of things.

“A reality where all… shall burn their tongues on hot tea…” -The Jailer

But wait, I thought he was going to unmake reality? Like, destroy everything, the entire existence?

How can there be an eternity of torment when there’s no existence, and thus nobody to experience the torment?

Just what exactly is the Jailer’s trying to do make up your mind aaargh

Dausegne sounds like a character from Silver Fang.

Nevermind that his goal was to set right the flawed design of the makers, to obliterate the cosmic injustices left upon all by creation itself.

Nah, he just wants super duper Maw.

Because blizz realized they once again forgot to write a villain.

BUT WHY?!

Why does he want to create an eternity of torment? Why was he thrown into the Maw in the first place?! What sets him apart from the Eternal Ones save that the freaking First Ones knew from the get go it was going to go that bad about their 3D printed afterlife deities and decided to do nothing about that?!

The more I hear of this inconsistent lore I want to commit exterminatus on it!

Imagine having the power to re-write reality, create double the ressources in the universe, coerce the cosmic forces to your will, basically having the powers of a DM…

Chooses to just create the Maw Deluxe. It’s about as underwhelming and bland as it comes.

i honestly cant stand these people for ruining this game
