Once again we’re on a track of immutable destiny in spite of all the ways Free Will is the absolute good. Pick a thing when you write a setting. You clearly want the rigid, authoritarian inflexibility and slavish devotion to cults and false gods to be the antagonistic force of the setting. If so, and we are the agents of change, freedom and sensible moderation (liberalism?), why are we locked into our hero’s destiny all the freaking time?
Besides that giving players a choice in a nominal rpg would demand more effort to make content, that is.
