Thousand 3D Printer Needles
Horde under Sylvanas: Supports individual differences while uniting them under one banner against the Alliance. Had widespread support from across the member races even up to the rebellion on her doorstep. Made her staunchest opposition her prime war advisor to ensure a balanced approach to conducting aggressive diplomacy.
Horde under the Council: Racist, hates each other, hires a near illiterate individual to write a report on the situation around Kalimdor.
Sylv stans stay propagandising winning.
I don’t disagree. I’m just surprised that the narrative culminates in such a manner, with the “shocking reveals” having nothing to do with their established characters and stories, but rather pulling an entirely new concept/astronomic layer out of the blue.
All I gather from this is that mr Boi (Zappy) is a complete idiot.
I love how in an effort to keep Azeroth as static as possible, the Southfury flooding the Barrens and Durotar hasn’t turned it into some bountiful breadbasket nile-style. No. The Goblins poisoned it with their industry waste.
Orgrimmar and the surrounding region kept stagnant by an unintentional and anti-semetic trope.
Absolute joke of a CDEV department.
The writers of the same setting up to its armpits in the noble savage trope and tauren that were yikes in 2002 keeps stepping in it?
Tired tropes aside, it’s quite infurating at how much they wont develop the world much from what was laid down in Vanilla beyond homogenising the factions within SW and Org.
While I’d normally argue that the book is written from the perspective of a character, and therefore not everything he says is necessarily right, it doesn’t read like it’s supposed to be interpreted that way.
Mr. Zappy seems ignorant, if not straight up dumb. You’re telling me the guy who happily, even enthusiastically participated in the Siege of Undercity, and encouraging their commander to do so, doesn’t understand why the nelves fight? Doesn’t understand why “one throws their life away in war”? The Horde is all about throwing your life away in war for glorious purpose, at least for the OGs, which Zekhan clearly looked up to.
I don’t understant how it’s this difficult to write some decent world building for WoW. It’s a child’s puzzle compared to other franchises like Elder Scrolls, which still does it better both in-game and in its external material.
my expectations for blizzard’s writing in this book was extremely low to begin with, but once again blizzard exceeds my expectations by somehow lacking a sensitivity proofreader and deciding mighty whitey lorthemar theron must educate the precious little savage troll on basic concepts like erosion and literacy
sean copeland sure was in copiumland thinking any of this was OK
Zekhan being “Why do the Nelves keep fighting and wasting their lives?”
Idk bro, but it’s not as bad as Trolls constantly making deals with Blood gods, being bullied by the WoW version of Superman because they attacked SW and generally being salty over what the Elves did to them 10K years ago.
In general this is terrible writing, it’s static, stale and demands that you just accept that the characters you’re reading about are actually stupid, like really dense beyond acceptable levels.
I just had a great (horrible) idea.
What if they use the cosmic 3D printer to recreate every dead night elf from Teldrassil, Westworld style?
There, everyone’s happy now right?
Please stop… This is an idea so awful I could see them doing it.
How else do you think Sylvanas is going to come back to life?
Would fit in well with devs’ inability to commit to keeping things dead.
3D printed one should be called Sylvanasil.
The virgin noble savage trope Tauren
vs.
The chad noble and savage Trooper Tauren
Kinda questionable what you’re saying here? What does Lor’themar’s skin have to do with helping another species?
Deliberate or otherwise, the jive-speaking black-coded race is being taught how to read and write* by the benevolent fair-skinned ‘civilised’ race. It is, as some might say: not a good look.
*despite being able to do so in Shadow’s Rising already
Being so creatively bankrupt that instead of describing things about all these zones and places (e.g secret caves, ruins or local customs and weird cultural things that really flesh out the world) you just describe the in-game world what players already see but don’t even touch the interesting things like these two giant corpses;
