Remember Cataclysm. People hard cried so much because the world was changing.
Probably cus the changes were pretty naff and seldom for the better.
Honestly, everything can’t be satisfy everyone.
I have some points in this revamp i really didnt like. Keeshan, for example. Harrison Jones. These PNJs are lore’s killers.
No, but ideally the majority of stuff should satisfy the majority of the people playing, and that’s far from the case atm - judgement reserved for when the expansion actually drops.
It’s a little bit of a mixture with it. From a scenery perspective, it was nice to see the world change and get updated and some story zone quests were interesting and followed up and continued some old stories.
The biggest problem however was that a majority of the main zone quests all ended up as joke & pop references. Not even good pop references, but often very awkward ones with the entire reference not just being a hint to the original but more of a “Haha, look. It’s this character from that stuff!”
Most of these zone quests completely abandoned the idea that it was a living world & rpg and more that it was infact just a “funny” game.
Stop, you’re giving me Schnottz flashbacks.
One of the worst things they did. There was so much that could be done with Uldum and they did that.
Just you wait for the full evolution of marvelmovie-fied WoW with quips and banter as we puch another deity because it’s cool and relateable pop culture that’ll surely draw in new players, right? Right?!
I am thankful that I am blessed with such ignorance to get almost 0 of these references due to my low knowledge of pop culture and other franchises and thus, simply move along.
Please movie directors & writers, not every movie needs cheeky “smart” banter and quirky quips.
I mean, changes doesn’t mean the whole old world needs to be revamped again. Even the lazy way out by adding new NPCs with dialogue or sprinkling in some flavourful buildings would do a lot to signify time has passed.
In fact, the changes was equal that the all stories change too. There is much more than revamped.
I liked this.
between quest names and voice actors used, ardenweald was just a persona refference tbh…
Yeah this was good. More of this.
Aw man, this made me a little sad.
It was a good read, and a fine a retcon: dragons did not “intermingle” and make love among broods. As stated in War of the Ancients, Alexstrasza and Neltharion were very close to one another, but were never lovers because for some reason, different flights wouldn’t mate with one another.
I always found that a little weird but eh, I thought that was bound to change.
Retconning Knaak is always permissible.
knaak did nothing wrong
