Come now, he pulled a magical sword from… alright not a lake, but a bed of ashes. He’s practically a divine sovereign.
Never?
One could take it as me drawing a distinction between the purportedly elected gnome king* but mostly it’s just to drive home that it’s a dictatorial move. “Unelected King” emphasises that more than just “King”.
I like these. Shame not all classes can use them, but maybe if we get a polearm or Staff later on, they can rotate it out every few months?
Should have dagger+2h sword versions (even if they keep the same model) so everyone could use them.
Kinda dumb for the Blades of Elune to not be usable by priests…
Common Dev Facepalm moment…
Big agree. I mean its not like we have had huge, oversized “daggers” before!

Very in character for Blizzard tho.
But distrust everything today, for it is the april of first.
I imagine it’s more likely that Anduin had Shaw dig up dirt on those corrupt nobles and then use that to either get them back in line or oust them. Anduin doing a purge would be interesting though…
I just realized that with those 2 Blades of Elune…
One is more Autumn-colour orientated?
And the other one is spring/summer?
They aren’t identical!
Winter Queen has a monopoly on the icy nature stuff.
I was actually seeing them as life+death blades

This gives big shadowlands vibes.
They’re visually unimpressive for something called blades of elune.

Not gonna lie, sort of expect the blades of Elune to be… crescent shaped at least?
Cata Timewalking is up ATM and you can fight Tyrande in endtimes. You know what shape the 2 weapons she drops are (the wand and the axe)? Crescent shaped.
Meh.
Yeah, nowhere near Lunar enougto be Elune related, honestly. Blades of the Dream or something, maybe.
They give me more of an OG warden vibe, especially with the cyan glow.

The more I look at it the more I see the bottom half of Frostmourne attached to some Drust wood.
The glowy core bit along with the half-handguard just makes me think of shalamayne split-mode.
I don’t like how Blizzard slowly try take away star and cosmic aesthetic from Elune.
Silver armor, lunar themes, starfall, purple and silver magic, thats are her signatures. Nature has never been her main attribute. She has a child with a deer, thats the only thing should connect her to this cosmic power. Honestly, I hope Elune turns out to be something more or even bigger than just another part of the another pantheon.
I’d be concerned if this becomes the average appearance for Elune-themed items going forwards, but as it is I really think they’re just loosely based off the Scythe of Elune without any of the fitting lore as to why the Scythe looks that way. Guess we’ll see soon enough!
