Only the middle part is neutral for the post-raid quest. The rest of the zone has PVP guards.
10 copper is 10 copper.
Also there’s a bunch of portal mages and ship-links to Kalimdor in Amirdrassil - there’s NPC ‘visitors’ that have shown up from both Feralas and Darkshore, and at least one portal to Hyjal so like…it’s definitely not ‘cut off’.
It’s the first step on the road to the New Kaldorei Empire.
Lordaeron belongs to the Forsaken and now so will other places as well.
Ew. Don’t post that again.
Honestly, I’d be willing to see the Forsaken surrender Lordaeron to the living under the leadership of Calia and over the course of a five year storyline, which ends with them seeking a fresh start off the coast of the Dragon Isles.
I’d put up with a garbage plot like that as long as it ends with the Forsaken getting a vast and lovingly crafted zone to call their own, designed to fit the Forsaken fantasy in every way, where they can begin anew.
But the night elves don’t seem to have given up their holdings in Kalimdor, despite all of the fears and concerns about that, so maybe that imagined scenario isn’t a suitable comparison.
I’ll make my graphics even worse next time, just for you.
That makes one of us, and is a prime example why maybe not all feedback should be heeded.
Yeah. The real issue here is that we had no way of knowing that until now. In the 9.2.5 questline, the souls sacrifice themselves to create the seed.
Of course, the ending is good, the souls haven´t been consumed (well, not all, some still got permadeathed during Slands), but for about year and a half, the “they´re gone now” was not a theory, it was outright part of the lore.
The ending we´ve got is overall much better than some doom and gloom people have been (justifiably, after Shadowlands) worried about. Although I wonder how much of it is based on player feedback over the years instead of some vision Blizzard had, trying to placate the night elf fans instead of doing what Blizzard thinks would placate them (which is a good thing and I hope it continues, because after the orc and tauren priests with titles “Brother” and the whole “renewal” thing in Slands, I feel like what Blizzard wants for the races is somehow always the worst story option).
The official wording was always that the souls of the Kaldorei had:
chosen instead to become part of a new beginning for their kin.
To me, that doesn’t imply absolute annihilation.
Even later on in Dragonflight, Tyrande’s commentary about the seed as she gave it to the Green Dragonflight was:
So many beloved souls entrusting their fate, their hopes, to us.
That makes it sound like the souls still exist in some capacity at that point.
While I won’t pretend that it was obvious from the start that the souls of the Kaldorei would become the wisps of the new world tree, the idea that the dead Kaldorei lost to the Maw “had their souls consumed” by the Sisters’ Tear or “became anima fuel and were deader than dead” was a misconception from the start, born from an extremely negative interpretation of the latest lore.
… which I honestly can’t blame anyone for, Shadowlands was a bad time for everyone.
But the point I am making is that the fate of the night elves who died during the Burning of Teldrassil was never as bleak as people like to make it out to be, even before the revelations of 10.2.5.
A maritime power of an island capital and its colonies overseas territories would actually be an interesting development.
Scarlet gear strikes again.
Also, the monthly track isn’t the mount but the pet? What kind of idiocy is this?!
Unironically… I don’t really find anything cool there. Guess I’ll have more tenders for the future.
I could get the pets, but meh.
A bit miffed the mage stuff is only blue and gold. There are two other variants that I’d been looking forward to, so this is a bit… meh.
On the plus side of things, bland tabards with actual textures (and Scarlet stuff for clothies) is a welcome addition.
I’d still say, as someone who’s done enough creative writing/reading and picking said apart, that it was also far too oblique on what they actually meant. The sheer confusion/uncertainty is, in and of itself, a sign that they failed in conveying what was actually occuring.
And, like you said, it’s hard to blame people for negativity after BFA and SLs back-to-back blockbuster (or something buster…)
There’s some good low-key stuff there, as always. I like the winter-themed transmogs.
I will deffo try and build a cool Mage set around the one that will be on sale in December!
I think it looks pretty neat, although I would prefer a purple one.
I would more then preffer to see my Truth Seeker Orbs from Legion Felo’melorn return as a glyph akin to the warlock soulshards, though!
Also the Scarlet robes are pretty awesome!
While that’s a bit weird, yeah. It doesn’t ruin the place for me.
And yet the Horde still battle the night elves in Ashenvale, and maybe Darkshore, because they refuse to give up “their” holdings. But the night elves are to blame for “throwing away lives” instead of peace.
That last part is the official stance of the Horde’s most well known ambassador, and thus the Horde.
The big Silvermoon symbol on the back of the crown is worse. Seems out of place on anything but a Blood Elf.
Clearly they are catering to the Stormwind-aligned Blood El- High Elf* community.
*ie. Void Elves
Because it’s a recolor, just like every other set / arsenal of this entire batch of class weapons and armor. Go to the trading post and look at the icon of the mage set, and you’ll see how the icon is red and gold, with the spheres being verdant spheres.
