PTR Spoiler/Discussion Thread (Part 2)

If your waves could be the mountains I climb
If I could reach the peaks and touch your mind
Oh, oh, the distance I would go

You know what, I dislike the fact that Vyranoth is now the Aspect of Storms and self-proclaimed Aspect of the Thorignir and Netherwing Dragonflights.

Thrymjaris and Neltharaku(or Mordenaku) should’ve been the Aspects of their respective Flights, or they should’ve been 2 Flights with no Aspect, but a seat on the Aspects table due to them being leaders of their respective Flights.

Now Vyranoth is double-Blessed & leader of two Flights who have no history with her. Make her leader of the Proto-Dragons or something. And if Blizzard really insisted on her being ther Aspect of those Flights, they should’ve gone way deeper into it, and build it up way more instead of some rando text afterwards :frowning: (Also the Netherwings have more in common with the Blue’s, anyways)

But don’t you know? Rightful and Fated Leaders are just the BEST! Right?

(Blizzard, you’re American, you’re more God’s One Ordained Monarch than us Brits, good grief what are you doing??)

I think its a cry for help from the Kingless colonies.

They want to return!

I got just the theme:

American citizen: "Sir, our fleet! It’s returning! But…
American officer: “But what?”
American citizen: “It’s the flags sir… they’re not Stars and Stripes… they’re Union Jacks…”

More like Great Man Theory plus a little Might Makes Right that comes with a century of being the world’s primary superpower.

Through her personal merits (being born as an extremely powerful entity who was granted further power due to her social connections and political stance and having the wisdom/guile to abandon her comrades and join the winning side just in time to receive additional power and amnesty despite her prior actions and affiliations) she has proven that she is a great person worthy of respect, more-so than any dragon among the Netherwing and Thorignir. Therefore, they automatically kowtow to her superiority, especially because she was magnanimous enough to go through the effort of liberating the Thorignir, without them even needing to ask for the privilege. They owe it to her, really.

Perhaps unconsciously, Blizzard has made Vyranoth one of the most American characters in the entire franchise, and not in a good way.

I think it boils down the fact that Blizzard wanted to consolidate all of the outlying dragons and make everything neat and tidy, with a single dragonflight for all of the oddball dragons that don’t fit in the standard colour-coded five.
They had just put the effort into creating an iconic villain-turned-hero with a very unique and none of the oddball dragon groups had any marketable leaders, so Vyranoth was the obvious choice. No way they were going to put literally-who characters like Thrymjaris and Neltharaku on equal standing with the likes of Ysera and Alexstrasza.

Twilights, chromatics, Deepholme’s earth dragons and some others with Deathwing’s name in their legacy: “Are we a joke to you?”

Infinites upon being forgotten again: “And -this- right here, is why we’re trying to change the timeline.”

they can just be in a timeline where they are the good guys

Blizzard probably assumes that we killed them all off, at least until they feel like bringing them back as villains of the week.

It’s hard to think of anywhere in Azeroth that is more forgotten and irrelevant than the Cataclysm zones, with the exception of Uldum. Vashj’ir and Deepholm especially.

Ughh… You’re right.
Ew… Ewww…

Sabellian was a literal “Who character” aswell, so its not like they hadn’t done it before with a character who only showed up once in TBC. And he is pretty much on equal standing with Ysera and Alexstrasza as he was a contender for the Black Aspect.

Its not that they don’t know how to put characters on equal standing, its just that they want to take the easy route.

Neltharaku and Thrymjaris can easily be made on equal footing with the other Aspect with ever less effort then Vyranoth, seeing as they’re already leading their own Flights. Its just that it takes effort and would take time away from Vyranoth, which Blizzard apparently does not like.

Can’t take time when you keep firing more staff…

But still the game was rigged from the start. Blizzard does a good job of updressing characters to give the illusion of chance.

On one hand, I do like the no spoilers part…

On the other hand, I do not trust Blizzard without having the community pointing out glarious obvious mistakes in their stories, quests or events…

Going in blind would be a nice change of pace. Even when not looking on wowhead, datamined spoilers tend to make the rounds quite readily across media.

Here’s hoping there’s some sane lore behind it and it’s not just a dumb meme. For a while, I was afraid it was going to be their biggest April Fools joke to date. It still might be.
