PTR Spoiler/Discussion Thread (Part 2)

Ah thank you! I must have missed/forgotten about this. How interesting.

He finally hatched?

I remember his original super deep voice and wonder whatever became of that…

Okay you got me there, and I am dishonored for forgetting about that part.

Let me rephrase. “He doesn’t hold grudges unless he feels you endanger Tyrande.”

Can’t say I agree with the way he and Tyrande treated Illidan at the end of Legion ( even if Illidan definetly isn’t a saint).

The exact way anyone should treat the weirdo that’s been thirsting after them throughout a ten-thousand year long happy relationship with said weirdo’s brother, godspeed Tyrande

Best characterisation of the expac honestly.

Illidan deserves every bit of bad treatment Furion and Tyrande give him.

They’re happy, Tyrande chose Furion, and still the guy couldn’t help himself thirsting after her and trying to get Tyrande to love him.

In the hundreds or thousands of years he lived before and after his imprisonment he could’ve had any number of human, blood elf and night elf ladies.

Guy even had a harem in the Black Temple.

Still he simped after his brother’s wife.

:dagger:

“Uhh… okay, I guess?” is the sanest and most reasonable + logical response

I don’t know, I always had the feeling that after he got out of prison he pretty much knew that Tyrande wasn’t ever gonna pick him. He still cared for her but that was it.

I think in his final message to them he even says “Okay you picked him, that’s how it is.”

Mind you, I am not trying to defend Illidan here, he definetly made a hell of a lot of mistakes and is far from a good guy, even after coming back after the Nighthold.

But I guess I would’ve atleast liked to see the three interact even once, before he went to camp at the Seat of the Pantheon.

The fact they were both at the end of Nighthold and there was zero dialogue between them is pretty funny.

Snubbed hard.

Legion’s historical revisionism of Illidan has been disastrous for media literacy tbh. Man went from being a genocidal maniac who was close to destroying all out Outland via draining all its water, greenlighting the Belf draining of the Mana atmosphere around Netherstorm, allowing Legion demons under his command to take parts of the world under his dominion, enslaving what little denizens remained.

But don’t worry about any of that because he err. . .said no to a Naaru in Legion so all of that is forgiven, or something.

He had a long term utilitarian plan for a “greater good” so he’ll always have defenders no matter how much he sacrificed (other people) for his narrow self interested glory hounding.

Gotta remember to use that one when my plans of earthly domination come to fruition. “I only did all this horrific stuff because my ultimate plan was [Good] actually”. Now that I think about it, its rather scary to know how many people would just fall for that instantly.

What revisionism? There’s an entire plot of the Order Hall for Demon Hunters if you choose the night elf about how Illidan was exactly that. The only reason why he’s tolerated is because he’s a demon hunter in an expansion about hunting demons, and once his task is done, there’s an entire quest about him sending a letter to those he ‘cares’ for, and most of them saying that they either don’t care about him, or hate what he’s become - to the point of being glad of possibly being dead, even if he’s facing Sargeras.

There’s not a single moment where we’re told he’s good just because we’re allied to him. We’re allied to the damn Lich King, and that doesn’t mean that the expansion is doing revisionism on all the atrocities and shady business that the Lich King engages in before, during, or after Legion.

Although it is really funny that post-helm of domination Bolvar just gave up on his villanous plans from Legion for the DK’s should the Deathlord ever start to falter. I assume probably because it wasn’t really Bolvar plotting that and moreso the [collected consciousness of the Helm of Domination].

That revisionism came later where Bolvar becomes a chill guy once the helm is ripped in half by goth mommy.

That cold pragmatist with a tyrannical streak that’ll definitely force you (his pet Deathlord) if you won’t just Serve died that day.

Never referenced in slands, conveniently enough!

Not even. We see Arthas doing the exact same thing once the helmet comes off of his head, as well as Bolvar being a pragmatist with good intentions in mind who instantly got influenced by the helm the moment he put it on, all the way back in Wrath of the Lich King.

Also, PSA: Please, stop calling Sylvanas and Nathanos goth (x) and simp (y), it’s honestly grating how no female character can exist without people having to imprint their sexuality on every comment involving them at this point.

The writer’s barely disguished fetish drew first blood, I have no regrets.

I mean, you see the examples of people falling for that in the modern world. All you have to do is proclaim loudly how you are the last defender of religious and traditional values and how everyone trying to stop you are the enemy, thus making everything -you- do completely justified.

Pandaren RPers rejoice!!
