To be fair, I would classify Dalaran as the third or fourth city in terms of significance in the setting - after Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and maybe Lordaeron.
Dalaran even had a spot in the WoW movie, too.

I wonder what will happen with the Dalaran market events now… as it seems to be broken in cannon.
Will we just continue to use it and pretend it is another town ?
What other neutral hub can be used?
Shat? Valdrakken? booty bay?
Ideally people can RP around the loss and devastation of it, but I also think that’s asking a bit much immediately. Surely the solution becomes to find some relatively large-sized neutral areas in Azeroth and move around them to create cycling markets?

@Koralash
Somehow I’ve a feeling Pandaria’s going to be overrun with Dalaran rp’ers now.
Offering them my support in this trying time. May the Pandaren resist as they did the Zandalari.
The superior location.
Halfhill would be an ideal location for such an event, if it wasn’t for the fact that it’s got all sorts of phasing issues. I think that Veldrakken could work though, with those open platforms ideal for people setting up stalls and tents and whatnot.
Definitely third. Aside from a few Warcraft 3 cinematics, Lordaeron really isn’t that important to the franchise.
Link?
The Citizens of Dalaran Discord is discussing potential options, and so far Valdrakken seems to be the most popular one by far.

Icon for an item, goblinraid as part of the icon’s name.
Innnnteresting.
Are we getting Undermine? It would fit a subterranean expansion.
Seems like it would be a weird decision to make, considering that this expansion has absolutely nothing to do with goblins outside of that.
Might be a little strange if we take a break from dealing with all of the nerubians and Xal’atath and the mysterious voice of Azeroth and whatnot because suddenly, goblins, out of nowhere.
I hope it’s handled in a satisfactory way but no matter how poorly it’s written, let’s hope it convinces more people to play goblins if it’s real.
Also:
In a group interview with content creators in London, Game Director Ion Hazzikostas confirmed that Blizzard plans to allow Dracthyr to roll other classes besides Evoker in The War Within.
We’ve already had the raid datamining and it seems our main big threat, the Nerubians and their Queen, are completely dealt with by the end of the very first raid. Which is. . .an interesting decision, but I imagine its so they can do some [breath of fresh air] stuff inbetween since last time we had heavy void/legion aesthetics people got tired of it very quickly.
Not the first time such a thing happened though.
“Oh, Deathwing and his followers about to alter and destroy the world? All good, but go beat the snot out of these trolls quick, they’re getting uppity.”
“Oh, the Naga are about to overrun both Zandalar and Kul Tiras amidst a faction-war? Sure, but take care of these mechagnome-rustbuckets first, they’re getting uppity.”
Mechagon and the Zandalari uprising made sense as side-gigs, it was just a mega-dungeon and two revamped dungeons. As the primary raid and the big show-stopper of a major content patch, “suddenly, goblins” strikes me as an odd choice.
I do agree though. Especially if it’s as Meronspell says and the nerubian threat is already dealt with in the first patch?
I’m reserving judgement til we see the full picture. Though I’m also ready to not be surprised, given the Devs past subtlety track record on part with a runaway freight train.
I’m torn between looking forward to Dracthyr having more classes, and also having got my Evoker to 70 I’m kinda loathe to re-roll him or anything? I honestly feel like more concepts would benefit from Tank/DPS/Support (Heal) spec layouts, but maybe that’s just me heh.
Seems like they really are somewhere between dark trolls and night elves. It would be nice if Blizzard has been listening to feedback and will be providing these as a Horde allied race instead of the Earthen, but I won’t hold out hope for it.
I don’t know who would be disappointed by the Horde being denied Earthen at this juncture.
Its aesthetics is basically a floating Silvermoon City with its red replaced with purple.
