You could even say Wrathion’s Black Talons are dragonsworn in that respect as well. After Dragonflight, I don’t even really think there’s a big disparity between mortal and dragons to have dragonsworn. They’re both chill with one another.
I’m already surprised the Huojin Pandaren didn’t make a fuss when the Zandalari, the literal boogeymen of Pandaren stories, joined the Horde. Let the mogu into the Horde and their reaction’d probably be something along the lines of:
“First you let the Zandalari in, and now these guys? Dafudge is wrong with you people?!”
Just BfA criminally underusing any actual internal faction issues that have any sort of political basis that wasn’t the core cast of characters.
Lightforged see Void Elves using void necromancy and tossing people into void portals? “Good job, you fought with honour!”
Huojin seeing Zandalari join the Horde without any sort of approach over the events of MoP? “Let me teach you how to be a monk and channel the powers of the Celestials!”
Lightforged actual thoughts: “Well I would file a complaint but, their boss is married to our boss.”
Mhm, I feel as though they tried to atleast include Kul Tiran animosity towards Jaina and the Alliance for getting Daelin killed/not sending aid to him, but it got resolved so quickly. Not only was Jaina forgiven , but instantly bombarded to Lord-Admiral aswell, which I did find a strange move for someone whom they first made a song of caution about…
I’ve gone into things before on why this is complete hooey but naga models do lack a jumping animation. That sort of thing might take an entire week to implement…
For that matter, naga models have worn player gear models since TBC.
It could work with the casteless Zandalari that got rejected by the loa and had apparently nothing to do with the invasion… but indeed. I just wish Ji Firepaw was there warning the Zandalari to not even think about world conquest again… right after challenging Sylvanas to a duel for being a genocidal maniac of an undead, uh-huh…
The same that’s with the Alliance that cohorted with the Void first and with the Burning Legion next. Both are worse.
On this we agree my Goblin will forever slowl fly, I didn’t grind through all TBC engineering years after the fact for the Turbo version, just to NOT helicopter…
I think the Earthen are the only ones who are actually neutral. The Pandaren from the Wandering Isle that set out on adventure did split and join either Horde or Alliance. Same for the dracthyr. The player characters are not neutral (even if you can RP a neutral pandaren, of course).
Mixing IC and OOC is a wrong idea. A half of the dracthyr veyrns have nothing to do with the factions, a Pandaren doesn’t have to do anything with the turtle phylosophies, and it’s represented by the simple idea of making two copies of the same character in both factions. We are not “player characters”.
This. IC, my Pandaren is from Pandaria, not the Wandering Isle, and she’s only Alliance mechanically because we can’t be Neutral
(That said, she’d have found the Horde’s actions during War of Thorns pretty abhorrent)
Your PC however isn’t part of those neutral groups (as Thyasa said). It’s not mixing of IC and OOC either. We can RP whatever we want, but just like there are no high elf PCs (all are void elves), there are no neutral pandaren or dracthyr PCs. Canonically, the pandaren you play is either Tushui or Huojin from Wandering Isle, not a neutral one from Pandaria.
Earthen, however, do not seem to actually join either of the factions even if mechanically the characters are in one, and in lore, our Earthen are still neutral.
