Although the Coven is gone, there’s explicit mention of hexed animals still roaming the woods, which led to the Embers launching a campaign to destroy all Drust ruins they can find to prevent the next generation of witches making contact with Thros — because their cursed remains still linger, and the threat will persist.

D’aaaawww, I rather liked the classic take on witches (actual hags dabbling with dark magic) roaming Drustvar. I’d hoped they might reappear in the future, what with the ongoing fight between them and the Embers being referenced at the Trade Post, but new lore supercedes that I suppose.

Keep in mind that they started the campaign, but there’s no mention of them having successfully finished it. They destroy the ruins they find, but Drustvar is a big place, and there’s lots of hidden places in the mountains.

I’d say it would almost be poetic if they meant the insanity inducing playerbase Old God Lore Speculations™ which would, from the standpoint of an Azerothian, be a proper eldritch idea of immortality instead of “aaah big tentacle scare me”.

Translation of a leaked survey apparently gauging new class interest. While I’m encouraged by the inclusion of Bard, everything else on there just looks like it should be a spec or class skin on an existing class.

Like there’s no reason for Spellbreaker to be standalone - that’s just a warrior spec. Necromancer is just a skin for demonology warlock (or turning Unholy DK into a ranged spec).

Witch in particular feels like it’s just a warlock to me.

I kinda feel like it’d be better to add new specs to (some of) the existing classes. Like give Warlocks, Shamans and idk Hunters a tank spec, give mages a healing spec etc.

I expect Tinker fused with all the Titan Power-magic related classes being a choice where Blizzard tries to put their unique spin on the concept that will end up being divisive. Admittedly that would also make it distinct enough from Engineering (and Gnomes and Goblins) to justify its existence.

Necromancer could be akin to the green fire questline for Demonology Warlocks(and maybe Frostmages to replace the water elemental for a Skeleton Mage and perhaps the frostshards for ghouls or w/e?)

Anyways, yea big agree with that most of these sound like speccs.Titankiller sounds more like a Warrior hero spec that fidn’t make it or something…

I will not stand for the necromancer stand-alone class erasure. What they should do is delete demo and affliction warlock specs and make those anew for necro.

Yeah Aff is like the warlock spec with most continuity to warlocks back to the 2004 version of the game. Jerk who uses lots of dots and debuffs is kinda integral to warlock’s class identity.
