PTR Spoiler/Discussion Thread (Part 3)

I’d be much more favourable towards Dracthyr if I could pick from more availiable races for my visage form. Like let me be an Orc visage Dracthyr on the Horde or a Gnome one for Tesco’s Chromie and so on.

Nope, all you get is uncanny valley belf A and human B.

Don’t worry Dracthyr I’m sure that whole plotline about why you have uniquely freakish visage appearances is riiiiight around the corner. Much like every other piece of lore about the existence of your race.

Did we ever even resolve that whole “Giant-Killer” passive storyline. I feel like the answer on that was inconclusive. We can speculate it was the Incarnates I guess but the fact that Blizzard kept chin-wagging that it wasn’t them kind of indicates otherwise.

Heritage will happen one day and…
Answer nothing.

In the grand scheme of things, I can see what they’re going for. The want to create a visage that is similar to the draconic visages we have (Alexstrasza, Nozdormu f.e.) whilst also making it accessible for players and ‘unique’ in a sense.

I’m still waiting on them to finish the Adamanathia storyline from 10.1. You’re telling me that Augmentation was locked behind a singular Black Dragon, and we know nothing about her?

Heritage consisting solely of shoulders and belt.

Unique bits should be optional.
I don’t want to look like I have a weird skin issue regardless of what I do.
Also, more eye options, like cross vs slit pupil and glowing eyes.

I agree with that. I know Iszy’s visage is relatively ‘normal’ all things considered, but I hate that I can’t get rid of the scales on his forehead even if I get rid of everything else.

Same.
I try to hide it with hair and the jewelry options, but it’s still there… Haunting me.

One of the primary foes of the Dragonflights on the Dragon Isles are the djaradin, a race of elemental half-giants who have sided with the Incarnates in the past. As the dracthyr were designed to serve the Aspects (especially Neltharion) as a martial species, it makes sense that they might be specialise against this primary foe.

It takes a bit of inferring and a few leaps of logic, but there’s some sense behind it. Then again, I know that there are few things that Argent Dawn hates more than lore that must be inferred and isn’t blatantly written in stone for all to see.

I got my copy of the Warcraft tarot and every major Arcana has a lore character representative aside from the Wheel of Fortune (it’s a big wheel, not too surprising), the Tower (it’s Sargeras’ sword instead of a ‘character’, this makes sense) and, strangely, the Hermit whose image is a Worgen that looks remarkably similar to Genn Greymane but unlike every other major isn’t specifically called out by name at all. Just a weird exception to the way the rest are described.

The minor Arcana are a split of some notable and some not.

I still think some of the choices for which arcana are very silly.

The cards themselves are nice and are of acceptable quality. Higher than I thought they’d be for the pricetag honestly.

Wasn’t aware there was one. Need to check them out, although my Da Vinci deck is the only one I really use.

Pandaren are sitting with fright upon being reminded that they are the last round of Heritage Armor. It’s possible Blizzard even forgot and it’s one of those instances where it’s the lesser evil.

I just want a proper keg backpack, man…

Not quite. With how awesome the orc heritage quests were, it is possible that we too will get something truly important for us. Be it the ability for all Pandaren to return to the Wandering Isle, rebuilding of the Serpent Heart, or even a reminder that despite the diffirent phylosophies of the Huojin, the Tushui and everything in between we are still one people, it’s something worth hoping for.

I get this and its the one I personally do believe most strongly but it does have some weird…problems with it.

  1. The complete irrelevancy of Djaradin.
  2. The icon shows Dracthyr taking down a Stone Giant.
  3. Djaradin aren’t really (other than as a side-thing to Aberrus) involved with the Dracthyr much at all on a personal level, even if you dismiss their global irrelevancy.

Its the same situation with their visages and building it up as some peculiar mystery and then never really elaborating (and then making a gazillion dracthyr npcs who just use normal human models).

My fear is that they’re gonna just phone it in with an atypical focus on their belonging to the factions and fixing mess around with a heavy flanderized side of “MAGIC BEER!” instead of their belonging to the Wandering Isle which itself came from Pandaria.

An S-tier level heritage quest for Pandaren would involve the Tushui and Huojin cooperating in Pandaria with an emphasis on their respective doctrine while a third party mainlander (Cho) participates in giving guidance around their exploration across the best or ancient spots of Pandaria. For the threat it really doesn’t have to have be excessive, maybe Mogu remnants who decided now that Ra Den is dead they can do whatever they want. Perhaps they could bring up the topic of the Pearl of Pandaria. The quest concludes either on Shen-Zin-Su or the Vale (actually fixed this time for Christ’s sake).

One can hope.

No need for a real threat to be, even. The orcs and the draenei questlines demonstrated well enough that the life actually goes on in Durotar and Outland respectively, and with how much Pandaria has suffered over the last decade (not the least because of the factions), some improvements that we might even see in-game are long, long overdue. Maybe we’d even get the Peak of Serenity cleansed of fel among other things, who knows…
