I was unaware Nikola Tesla lived in the Warcraft universe.

I’ll be generous and interpret this as this being what they did before the Dark Portal was shut on Draenor’s side. He doesn’t mention Outland, after all.

Gnikola Gnesla, yes! :joy:

Look at all the cultures across Azeroth that channel the Light. From Elune, to Gral, to An'she.

At some point, Tyrande was visited in Darnassus by Velen, the leader of the draenei. Velen began to explain the similarities between Elune and his experiences with powerful naaru, but Tyrande thanked him for his opinion, then cordially requested that he refrain from making such outlandish claims when in Darnassus or in the presence of Elune's priesthood.[129]

Are they going to move Elune to the Light (and Void?) now we have the Haranir being super night elves/trolls?

Could just be placeholder names but with all they do recently, I wouldn’t bet on it anymore.

More homogenization. I want off this ride.

Racist Human Archbship trying to force everything he knows about the Light onto non-human cultures.

Anyways I am really freaking tired of them trying to shove everything into neat little boxes of Cosmic powers. Leave some darn mistery, not everything needs to fit cleanly into their contrived 6 boxes of cosmic powers who all do basicly the same anyways now.

Neat little boxes are good at explaining energies used, just to understand the idea on what can do what in different situations and what can be done to it in return. The mystery is in the ways of how it’s done, and in details of the specific traditions. Alas, such intricacies and flavours tend to be pruned, if order halls and such are of any indication.

I did that for Domination, my liver still hasn’t recovered.

A more charitable interpretation is that Blizzard wants to include religions that aren’t focused exclusively on the Light and make sure that fans of them aren’t left out of this expansion, so that night elf fans and orc fans and troll fans don’t stare blankly at the light-versus-void expansion and ask “what does this have to do with me?”

It’s not all that successful, but I don’t think that this flattening of religions will last much longer than Midnight. As soon as they want to highlight Elune again, she’ll be back to her unique moon magic self.

Datamimed string text regarding

“The Dawn of a New Well”.

Blizzard, honey, dearie, I was joking, I was kidding, I was having a little giggle, a little jovial jive, when I said that you should turn the Sunwell into the CosmicDawnDuskVoidLightSunwell in Midnight. I was KIDDING. I was FOOLING around. Don’t ACTUALLY do that !!!

APOLLO! RELEASE ME! I DON’T WANT THIS!

Enjoy your Darkwell man. You Void Elves are gonna love it!

They’ll do it anyway since the moment it’s known to be not a world-wide calamity, but an issue of Quel’thalas and the Army of the Light alone. So it was during the war with N’Zoth, and later on with Fyrakk and Khaz Algar. If they don’t change something drastically, it will never become a matter for most of the world to care about.

Two potential outcomes:

  • The good guys eventually come to the conclusion that the elven race cannot afford to bind itself to cosmic forces any longer and must learn to stand on their own two feet, leaving the well as an empty and inert monument to their decision.
  • The good guys manage to earn the blessing of Azeroth herself much like the Dragon Aspects and the well is filled with her power, rather than any malign cosmic force that would use the elven race for its own ends.

You’d think it’d occur to them that the Loa, at the very least of azeroths religions, would feel kinda threatened and inclinde to act/inspire their followers to act, at the idea of the planet they more or less live on being eaten before saying “lets make them use teh lieht!” like a bunch of 5 year olds.

Same with mrs “I am the moon”.

But its…already…filled with Azeroth’s blood…that’s- that’s why it exists, surely they’re not stupid enough to– oh God, this is why the Haranir are in this expansion isn’t it.

Fascinating experiment to take a fantasy setting and then inject it with “what if every magic turned you into gigahitler” as an actual piece of lore.

Off the bat, if the Sunwell becomes some sort of “Voidlight Well” - maybe having two Naaru hearts within it: one of Void (L’ura?) and one of Light (M’uru) - it sounds pretty boring. But I’ll reserve my final judgement for when I see the execution.

Either keep it Light or make it Void. Turning it into both like some literal Yin and Yang pond sounds corny.

The end goal is that we unlock yinyang magic which is perfect and doesn’t corrupt you like every other magic in this fantasy setting. Until 10 years down the line where Blizzard finds a way to make yin yang and balance into gigahitler because they already gigahitlerified everything else.

Apparently the end result of energy in Azeroth isn’t entropy or decay but instead slowly turning into gigahitler like aquatic life trends towards becoming crabs.

I will say it again:

Fixing of the arcane hunger of both the Blood Elves and The Nightborne was a mistake.

They should have been kept as the crackheads and whiskey aunts of Horde, always looking for the next mana fix.

Soulruin’s idea is also a possibility, with a big focus on balance rather than skewing towards a single cosmic force.

But if they go with Azeroth, I suspect that they’ll focus on the concept of this new well being the product of her consensually granting the elves her power, while the Well of Eternity was formed due to a terrible wound inflicted on her without her consent. If they go down this route, I suspect the haranir will play a big part, yes.

I feel a bit uncomfortable with this new focus of azeroth as an entity being unconsensually committed to several different acts. Especially because shes constantly framed as a Child. Does nobody else feel this is like, slightly creepy, given that this used to just be a planet with adventurers on it.
