I mean I thought it was pretty clear that the point I was trying to make was that I’m trying to keep an open mind and engage in the expansion with good faith, but I’m not surprised that you seem to lack an understanding on what good faith means.

The top left is Horde-generic. Everything else is BElf-specific.

Doesn’t seem like they plan on sticking around after this is done.

That just gives the impression that Xe’ra is not taken seriously by her? own people
a leader with no leadership or respect.
That or Xe’ra just made up the prime naaru shtick to feel extra special and the rest of them are to nice to tell them off.

Thats why they got their own little village down south, I suppose?

It’s technically abit outside of the Regency of Quel’thalas aswell!

They talk as if they aren’t a fringe group of deserters, and kirin’tor loyalists who prefer to live under human rule.

I think it feels pretty good.

Bieng exiled doesn’t make you a deserter.

Not living in Quel’thalas and sticking with your allies doesn’t make you a deserter either.

The High Elves were invited back by Lor’themar and chose to not to return.

The silver covenant are basicaly, farstriders token force that went with alleria, a move that was controversial already.
Dalaran citizens (who didn’t come back to aid against the undead)
and whichever free roaming individual who wasn’t home at the time.

Basically they were a small group of estranged elves who unlike the majority took an interest in humans, and for whatever reason didn’t or couldn’t make it back to defend their home against the scourge.
And still didn’t return in the aftermath, nor did they want to honor the fallen by symbolicly changing their name, so calling them deserters is a kindess.
They already forsaken their homes once and so don’t get any pity from me.

Honestly, it’s hard to tell which direction the story is going to go in:

  • It turns out that Metzen was lying about the reunification of the elven tribes or that high elves are mysteriously left out for some reason. On one hand, this allows some faction tension to remain with the Silver Covenant hurling slurs at Quel’thalas from their tiny village on the border. On the other, it’ll mean that Midnight won’t have lived up to the premise that we were told to expect, which will cause some consternation.
  • The story is going to go in a direction that leads to the high elves forgiving the blood elves and the reunification of all of the elven peoples, as advertised. This tension only exists during the start of the story and evaporates in some future campaign or patch. On one hand, we’ll get what was advertised by Metzen at 2023’s Blizzcon. On the other hand, it will resolve yet another compelling source of conflict and friction and leave the setting a little less exciting than before.

Up to you which is worse.

Also:

Looks like the Isle of Fangs or “Atal’Utek” might be our 12.1 zone after all and that Ula-Tek will feature in it.

Probably one of the few I DON’T mind getting resolved, as it would also knock out a majority of the nagging High elf stans asking for a playable race.

But we only have the beats for the first patch and current track record tells me the void will be a done deal when the 2nd patch drops and we go to some new mysterious island, to discover the forgotten lore of a tribe of highly intelligent pigmys.
then in the 3rd patch the naga attacks and we defeat queen azshara in a raid, later Metzen will confirm she is dead and the naga is no more on the website formely known as Twitter.

I was hoping they’d redo the draenei islands for faction parity.

I thought they all did, and then changed back to High Elves when Quel’thalas allied with the Horde/they were exiled from Quel’thalas because they did not want to become mana-vampires?

And incase of the Allerian Stronghold High Elves, can you blame them for sticking to the High Elf term instead of Blood Elves?

Don’t kill my Queen please

I am not blaming them per say. they signed up with alleria to continue the fight against the horde in the 2nd war and got trapped on the wrong side of the portal.
It was not recived well back home by the king but they did it anyway.

They didn’t know about the events inbetween until kea’thas came through with illidan and the naga.
And based on their color scheme being blue, we can assume the reunion was not a cozy one.

Search your feelings, you know it to be true, she’ll die in some mid-season 10 boss raid, unloved and unmourned.

This was a small group who were cast out to the Plaguelands Lodge. Lor’themar later went on to try and make amends.

The exile didn’t really influence the High Elves of say, Outland or Dalaran or the Lodge in Loch Modan. It wasn’t a massive blanket exile.
