PTR Spoiler/Discussion Thread (Part 4)

In my opinion, there just isn’t anything particularly engaging, nostalgic and deeply beloved about the Azuremyst Isles to anyone who isn’t a diehard draenei fan. The draenei story is mostly resolved at this point and there just isn’t that much interest there, I think.

… And out of pettiness, if we do end up going to the Azuremyst Isles, I demand that it’s mostly about the shamans of the Horde coming to rescue the draenei, with an entire storyline centred around Thrall’s son Durak doing some soul-searching. For faction parity!

It’s as serious as it gets. The Orc that took part in the First and Second Wars, was part of Garrosh’ war effort and then led a terror campaign against the Stromics back in the 4th War is now Lothar’s #1 follower. Because he’s having pints at a magical pub with King Danath of Stromgarde or something.

An organization which itself, stepped through the Dark Portal and inadvertently led to most Orcs dying off because of Draenor being sundered. So it’s tonally off on both sides.

It’s amazing. I’m actually baffled. Let’s take one of the oldest and most Alliance-core organisations of the setting and completely turn it on its head! I have a number of Sons of Lothar/Alliance Expedition characters, and this is just sad.

Meanwhile the Kirin Tor has a hiccups with their regular shifting from Alliance to neutrality and back…

Truthfully, pretty sure they never explicitly left it? They simply saw fit to entertain and play host to the Horde roughly before WotLK due to Aethas’ efforts as well as Malygos’ threat. And even as recent as TWW, Jaina and Khadgar reinforce the Kirin Tor’s role in the Alliance through dialogue.

But yeah, it has the same vibe as the Silver Hand Order Hall from back in Legion, where all of a sudden the Blood Knights were cannibalized by the Alliance Paladin organization for a brief moment. And sure, it wasn’t the Alliance Silver Hand, but rather the Argent Crusade brand, but it still felt extremely off.

What makes a man turn neutral…

Yes, but we don’t like the Kirin Tor as much.

Besides, they got what they deserve.

Please don’t make story decisions because of OOC people anoying you… that would give a very bad story!

Lmao, this is on the level of Danath “The Sons of Lothar have always preached peace and tolerance” Trollbane.

A few years ago they were the Light’s Greatest Racist vs the Orc’s Orciest Orc fighting over Stromgarde.

How come high elves far and wide at times referenced the exile? How come Lor’themar said Alleria was allowed to visit the Sunwell despite her exile?

I stand corrected btw:

Lor’themar Theron: Whatever she has become, Alleria is a daughter of Quel’Thalas. I will not >deny her pilgrimage to our most sacred site. First Arcanist, you and your retinue would be >welcome to join us.

I would actually support this, especially since the dark history between the draenei and orcs never really got resolved.

Dalaran neutrality in WotLK was iffy, but after MoP they should never have returned to neutrality and their Horde counterpart should’ve just been a Magister/Sunreaver/Forsaken organisation (maybe with a captured Necropoli?)

In Warlords of Draenor Khadgar refused the Council of Six’s orders and allowed the Horde to go to the Kirin Tor’s village in AU Draenor. Just so we know how trustworthy Khadgar is.

For every key Horde character or organisation that dies or turns evil, a key Alliance character or organisation turns neutral. Just the way of things.

I’d love to see them make the de-facto Guardian obey their will.

They’re trimming the cast by killing Hordies off, and then giving the Horde content/leaders/heroes by making Alliance ones neutral.

Imagine if Blizzard would just develop new Horde characters…

They don’t have to make him obey, they can just… y’know… not make him part of the Kirin Tor or lend him resources.

Oh no.

Last I spoke to Durak he said he wanted to become a warlock, so….

(The orc heritage questline did not account for warlock PCs I think.)

Man, I love how they’re diversifying the currencies we can now have a chance to buy on the shop. First tendies, now steelies.

I see Blizzard has decided that ‘The Sims’ Stuff Packs were a profitable model to copy.

Just going with a wild in the dark shot
but maybe its related to the magic kirin tor inn.

It’s the housing icon on the coins, so I doubt it.

Oh no, indeed.
