Can’t you post in the General part?
Which will by default cause tones of unnecessary problems whether it’s balancing or player-player interactions.
What Blizzard does now is simply irrational.
0% success rate is really hyping me up.
Yeah, I don’t care much about BFA. I spent probably half of the expansion unsubbed. Now I’m just waiting for Shadowlands, spending more time on the forums than I do ingame… Just like everyone else on the forums with passionate opinions about the game. Haven’t even done my weekly chest in weeks, cuz none of that matters. BFA is boring.
Prove to me I’m wrong. I’ll use only online games as examples. Red Dead Online - absolutely god awful progression. I have days where I’ve spent 12 hours straight playing that game. Because the gameplay itself is fun. Blade & Soul - very boring story, progression, world, but the combat was great, the pvp was great. Again - I’ve spent hours in that game’s arena, just fighting, not caring about rewards. TERA Online. One time I spent 3 hours on my level (i think) 6 archer just pvping right outside the starter area. I was low level, enemies were low level, combat was fun.
Meanwhile, in WoW, nobody does content unless it is rewarding to them. Nobody does content for fun. When they’re done with the rewards, they just go and play an actually fun game like Warzone. This is how you judge if a game’s combat, if a game’s basic loop is fun - if you’d play it even without any of the rewards. For WoW the answer is simple - no. In fact, if it was yes, I’d probably have spent much more time in BFA, because the main reason I originally quit was that the rewards were boring. This is actually the one and only issue BFA ever had. The rewards are boring. And therefore the expansion is one of the worst WoW has ever had. Because there’s not much more to the game than the rewards.
So to which extent turning the game into some sort of layers of mathemagic is fun? Is that fun to run thousands and thousands of Sim just to find out if a damn item is an actual upgrade? To which extent is locking power fun?
Welp, it appears to be a bit like Aldor and Scryers, in TBC.
Yeah no covenants locking you out of things is a terrible idea.
+1 for me
Players: Classes and talent trees were so much more immersive in Vanilla, you could experiment and even play a sub-optimal set-up because reasons…there were imbalances, but that was good.
Also Players: Cookie-cutter Main…because of course.
WoW systems are like buses, if you don’t like it don’t worry, there will be another one along shortly.
Except this is where Blizz fails… since the covenants don’t hate each other, like Aldor and Scryers did.
In fact the covenant that you joined, they send you to help the other covenants.
They send you while leveling and also at max when doing emissaries.
Hmmm… think there is a bit of a difference between being sent to help and actually changing Covenant.
Horde and Alliance helping each other out for the greater good, is part of each Xpac storyline…however changing Faction (even if it were possible) would be a very different thing, no?
Nah as different factions we still hate each other’s guts and kill each other at first chance.
Leaders in cinematics don’t count since they’re usually negotiating, some other scheming motivations or yes … go up against a common enemy temporarily, we don’t raid together the enemy.
The covenants do not hate each other and they see themselves and the others as an integral and important part of the Shadowlands.
Wrong, in vanilla (not to be mixed with classic) - people had like 0 tolerance to unique builds and you were so into cookie cutter that not even cookies fit into that cutter.
Keep covenants like they are i like CHOICE you pick!
And for all of you it is not class/faction argument.
Why you care then if it not “so much” pick and make choice cowards!
No.

Sorry to disappoint u but that means you were just unpopular ://
Ok…I don’t want to find out too much about Shadowlands before it launches, although obviously I’m grateful to all the players who are testing systems, etc…think I’ll duck out of this thread.
CHOOSE weakling!
These Indecisive people are curse of humanity!
I want locked covenants, I want a permanent choice that effects my character.
Francly speaking for paladins i see no issue with choosing covenants, cause they all give bad options
