There is some sort of matchmaking system in place already. I just got my full 158 honor gear and there was never full 40K team against us. Most were between 25K and 35K on both sides. Surely you get 1 shotted, but thats been the case since Vanilla if you enter BG freshly dinge max level.
But I sure learned how to pop Mirrors, Barrier, Ice Block, Battlemaster, Frost Nova, Sheep, Blink, Counterspell, Dragon’s Breath, Blastwave, Ring Of Frost, Healthstone, Venthyr Teleport & Agent of Chaos fast.
But it could/should be.
Where else is there for lowbies to PvP? ‘cause clearly many want to.
Hence op asking for a cap.
Not much different.
I’m still sat ~197 & still get insta-gibbed. It’s still frustrating. Moreso considering the grind we go through to end up with garbage gear.
BG’S never worked out for people who have questing items.
Especially now, when difference between questing items and 1600-1800 gear is 100 ilvls.
By setting fixed ilvl for random bg’s,you automatically poop on every single played who put effort into game, and you are allowing lazy people to have instant (example) 200 ilvl.
It takes 2 days to finish covenant story and farm anima for 197 upgrades.
Just because you think you should be allowed to do as you please in 140 ilvl gear,it doesn’t mean that’s how it should be.
Dude made topic 11 days ago,and he is still 140 ilvl.
I pushed 1400 in 2s in 185 ilvl gear.Anyone can do it because you fight 25 k hp people most of the time, until 1200 at least.
Honestly. In Warmode, Duels and Random BGs and Skirmishes everyones gear should scale up to current max PvP item level. In rated content it should stay as it is. Problem solved and everyone is happy.
Leechers and slackers would flourish, they would get ilvl bump for free.
I do understand and sympathize with people who are gearing up but only if they give their best to make progress. Its hard, and i have done it 3 times so far.Started same as everyone in 160 ilvl at lvl 60 but…
I sat down and i farmed crap out of dungeons and covenant story, because i knew once i get 185 ilvl,i would be able to make difference and progress.
No one ever helped me,and i had to go trough oneshots in half of my games, until i geared up.Once i got gear, there were no more oneshots and games lost due to no gear.
If you honestly expect to perform at all in 140 ilvl gear you are fooling yourself. Why even bother joining random bg’s at 22 k hp?
How hard is it to finish full covenant story and farm anima? On fresh char, you get 1250 anima just for killing Sire for the first time. You kill world boss you get 250 anima. You clear full raid and you get 385 anima, maybe you get one or two items.
OR…you can purchase full blue gear for 10-15 k gold (which is hilarious amount) and you complete all dungeons on mythic 0.By the time you finish all of them, you will be fully geared.
But no,people want free stuff with 0 effort put in.Nope, and thank god we dont have system like that.
No, by setting a fixed ilvl you ensure everyone in that bg has a fighting chance.
By having insane disparity, you ensure the single most accessible form of PvP can only be enjoyed by those at the top (assuming they enjoy punching downward).
Besides, Op isn’t asking for fixed ilvl, he’s asking for a cap -so that even lowbies are allowed/able to PvP somewhere. ’sacrilege!’
I’m unashamedly asking for a fixed ilvl, because I’m f’ing sick of imbalanced games/fights.
Even if it’s not Random BG’s, a bracket would suffice. Just somewhere, where people’s abilities mean something without being max-geared.
Bullsht.
Are level 30’s ’lazy&entitled’ for having their own bracket? No, because in the interest of fair play, it makes sense.
If anyone feel entitled to free stuff (wins) with zero effort, its people who justify an insurmountable gear advantage.
How about the effort you put into the BG you’re currently playing is the only effort that matters, instead of living-off some previous effort from unrelated content?
Noones asked for free stuff.
People want a balanced game, a chance at winning. Because with zero chance at winning, what’s the fcking point in playing?
This. A fair compromise between gear progression and gear importance in casual PvP. Though I don’t have any hope blizzard will ever implement this solution.
the wod scaling was fine just curious why we dont have it in SL pvp season 1
or give captcha to prevent having “noobs, bots, bads” even healers with even gear
p.s rbg grp leads who say "“communication is how u win” when half isnt using ingame voice
or using cc/interrupts you wont win any game
“But uuuuuh we cant have that in a roleplay game!!! Because gear is a part of progression you know!!! You better spend 3 months gearing so you can actually have fun because that’s wow is about!”
people with low ilvl battle each other and people with high ilvl battle each other, seems easy to me, that way pvp seems equal throughout your progression of gear.
But it’s way to much fun to completely stomp an opponent so they won’t take that “powerful” feeling of being over geared away from people.
Yes …
they try to keep ppl by letting them grind more instead of having fun.
Probably also Blizzard: “oh, you don´t have time because you work? As a working person you must have money then to buy our Tokens, sell them for gold and buy a boost.
Otherwise it would be unfortunate to play in the WORST scaling pvp gear since EVER”
What I have always thought about it is , to remove gear differences from random bgs ( stable 210 ilvl everyone ) and make the difference on rated pvp enviorements. Honor gains from casual enviorement shouldnt be able to effect the rated pvp gearing.
Just make the honor gear 203 (216 in PvP) baseline without the need to upgrade it. Beginners and alts shouldn’t be on equal ground with veterans who invested a lot into maximizing their character. But they deserve the ability to contribute to the win. And the honor grind required for upgrading the honor gear has been criticized from the start anyway.
