Because of this giant gear disparity players that want to PVP need to do heavy PVE grind before that. Like, really heavy. They have to grind everything, from world quests through mythic+15 up to heroic nya clear and few easier bosses from mythic nya.
What was wrong with WOD pvp system? Honor gear from honor point farming (battlegrounds on BG week = ultra fast gearing), conquest gear from weekly conquest cap. You didn’t had to PVE at all, just farm honor from battlegrounds and then play rated (full Warlords Season 3 with 730 pvp ilvl)
There was no PvP power but even simple honor gear was 730 ilvl in PVP which was about as strong as mythic HFC gear. In PVE it was about 700 iirc, good but not OP.
Gear locked behind rating was WOTLK thing. There’s a reason they got rid of that system. I have no idea why they brought it back.
I basically did this the other way around (playing pve and then jump into pvp). The main problem I see is that even on the lowest ranking (below 1400) everyone has way better gear than that rating rewards.
I did that with my freshly leveled druid heal after 2 weeks of mythic+. And I would basically have to get to 1.8k rating to get a useful item from the weekly chest (2.1k for useful end of match rewards).
It’s not a big deal for me but as a new player interested in arena it can certainly feel really unrewarding.
Weekend is already over for these kinds of threads.
Well I also went to pvp a bit into random BG today, was a total zug zug, 5 orcs chasing me trying to kill, standing and getting healz from my team, wasn’t hard really.
It was the same in classic, best pvp’ers were going with pve gear. Old times cam back, and again pvp’ers are crying, just decide what you want already…
For you and all other 50 ppl that came to this topic with “but freehold is easy”…it doesnt matter in the slightest…you get your 475 at the end of the week no matter the dungeon, afixes, if you timed it or not, how hard it was…
There is no easy afixes or easy dungeon to get 2400 in rated pvp, and you have to win to get the chest btw…not just participate. You can lose to double destro or rmp all week long and fet absolute trash for it.
Weird how your main character Rowogue-Stormscale has arena games, m+ done and raid boss kills this season considering that you haven’t played it since 8.2 hmm. If that’s not your main then what character is? Buddy,
the biggest problem here - countless number of players can have 15+ closed keys and also countless players can complete mythic raid, but not all players can have 2400 even because you need to take a place which taken by another player, you have to kick him out and take his place(that means he already lower than 2400, if you close a 15 key you will not kick any one from a 15 key), so there can’t be as many players over 2400 as many want just on this week spend their time and do it.
true, but again, it’s clearly an experiment on scaling the rewards by blizz and they done it absolutely hands down knowing that corruptions would have trashed ilvl.
True again, but also, you can’t have people bashed in pvp every day because of the wrong corruptions, they need a carrot coming from somewhere. M+ is the ideal choice, one random item out of 200+ choices.
Most of what come out of my +15 chest is still in my bag/bank or similar, too random to be really useful.
TL:DR It’s easy loot? Yes. It’s gamebreaking? Not really.
Imagine you want pvp but then you notice people have higher gear so you cant pvp at equal level. So you basically complaining you being easyly rewarded in pve to match other people gear in pvp?!and i think they did separated the problem is some pvp people like to pve, so they would have to double grind to do content, pvp and pve now is a choice always open no matter what you spend time doing in game.
