This will heavily reduce the safety blankets for Rogues and will actually allow them to be killed if caught in a bad position, whilst retaining a higher skill cap with Rogue pre-activating it in sticky situation so ensure they do not die during control situation
Shadowstep now has a 10 yard range when used on friendly players
Shadowstep has a maximum 10 yard range when used on a friendly players to reduce the rogue ability to peel
Shadowstep movement speed reduced to 35% down from 70% baseline
This will make rogue think about getting into the thick of combat and getting out as they will no longer be able to teleport to and from targets as easy without more precise planning of where partners stand to assist in the peeling process
Shadowy Duel now reduces all damage the Rogue and enemy players by 70%
Shadowy Duel now reduces the damage the Rogue deals and receives by 70% for it’s duration
Shadowy Duel now has a 5 minute cool-down
This will allow rogues to utilize Shadowy Duel to exclude a person from the game for a short peroid, however will not allow the Rogue to solo kill. additionally rogue can use this as a defensive tool
Bro making a change to cheat death failing to realise people use cheat death because the damage mitigation feint offers is borderline redundant, not even worth trying to use feint unless its in 2v2 and even then i’d only consider using it as outlaw rogue.
removing duel is fine, sub needs to be given the BFA treatment frankly.
You can definitely tell though which players don’t play rogue from the bizarre demands, most miserable class to play in any pug content be it M+ or PVP especially since people need to play around you as much as you do them and zug zug don’t want team play.
There I fixed it for you. Good luck to all the Rogues who suddenly had to pay attention to their health bars and became 200 rating lower. I can just imagine some Rogue reading this and getting a mini-heart attack before realizing it’s a suggestion and not actual tuning.
It’s become a meme at this point anyway. Let’s pretend other classes use defensives offensively to win.
Oh LMAO THAT RET BUBBLED FOR DMG “dies 10 seconds later”
Look at that Warrior who parried to not get disarmed then died lol
Ahahaha the Warlock who walled to get 2 unstable afflictions off and then died right after

Meanwhile lemme Cloak of shadows offensive np fam I got my passive just in case something bad happens
Not true, you can counter sub with for example unholy DK but I am not arguing I have no say in this.
Key is to deplete his CDs and be built up when rogue pops Evasion. It happened to me in few scenarios that we baited sub to feel on high horse, played on the ego of really strong spec and then one magical stun on him and I scraped him off through Evasion with Coils and Clawing Shadows.
Sorry, I shouldn’t have attacked you for no reason.
Unfortunately, some specs scale immensely with higher performance levels. The higher is the lobby’s mmr, the more matches start looking as GO - peel, stay safe, disrupt - GO - peel etc. The way the games flow on higher rating combined with Sub’s CDR mechanic and their toolkit makes it extremely difficult to “Deplete” their CDs, as no good player is pressing buttons into air. Add insane GO damage for a short period of time with singlehanded cross-CCing and you get a monster.
The spec requires skill (even though people don’t like to admit it) and can be outplayed, but you have to play extremely clean, because 1 wasted CD or wrong trinket is most likely a death.
As a healer, I’ve played lots of games vs really decent Sub Rogues and what helps me the most is positioning and keeping max. distance possible with easy access to a pillar.
I apologize for speaking up without proper background. And thank you for your note here, it will help me get better as I am also training better thinking and CD / position planning.
Sometimes you literally have to try to pre-wall the upcoming go and a Rogue can just decide to wait a bit longer. So you have technically used your CDs into air, but all you did was delay it a little bit. Sometimes you just die anyways.
A Sub rogue go requires a minimum of a 30% damage reduction to survive by yourself. Source: dying on CD with Pre Blur, barely surviving at like 10% with pre-Die by the sword, barely surviving with pre-Fortifying brew, etc.
This is if it’s mostly ONLY the Rogue hitting you. Add a 2nd player on top and it’s usually a 40% minimum on 100% hp to hopefully survive. Seen people die through PS on 100% to Rogue Mage and Rogue Hunter
Sounds well, but there’s a thing: during this “Pause” period DRs keep ticking on Rogue’s team and himself, meaning the consecutive GO on them is getting closer. Rogue is forced to play a tempo game, that’s his class design.
Of course you have to think before you press buttons like Dome. You ALWAYS have time to react against Rogue. If I hear cheapshot, I have 1 second or more to press dome on the killtarget. If I get kidneyed first, the victim has time to press it’s buttons. In your scenario, if I get kidney and my warrior presses DBTS, rogue can “just wait” for the whole kidney duration? Well, no go for him in the closest 25+ seconds, meaning he’s behind.
That’s my logic, but nothing is perfect in the arena and particularly on my rating (we mess up every game :D) Rogues are VERY strong, all we can do is to learn their class and adapt.
Oh I agree with you but not every game is “GO” oriented. The Rogue’s team can hold out a few extra seconds if that means more free trinkets and CDs. There’s no “go” in a lot of comps, even on high rating, maybe there’s some micro CC or stun / incap stuff going on but overall a lot of teams just pve people down. And no other comp has such quick spammable go’s like Rogue comps do.
I had 3 lobbies in a row this morning where a rogue kept losing when they were duelling someone. One rogue duelled a retri paladin when he just reached max stacks on crusade + just activated shield and gets bursted so hard that he was just deleted from the face of the earth.
I straight up died without being able to do anything this morning vs a unholy dk / rogue combo.
The rogue went full force on me, going full damage and the dk strangulated me. Can’t even trinket the strangulate because I’m gonna get stunned if I do. Can’t guardian spirit myself because I’m strangulated. Died before strangulate was over and if I had trinketed, I would have been killed in the following stun sequences even with GS. Rogue also duelled me so the others couldn’t stop him, the DK had IBF & AMS up, so they couldn’t stop him either.
Damage seriously needs to go down. All I could do was activate the battlemaster trinket but that helped absolutely nothing.
