Crit dmg change on 10.1 from 175% to 150% will have big impact for Ele shaman, which is mostly about lava burst that has 100% crit chance, so it’s just a huge dmg nerf. I’m hoping for some compensation, so it still does the same dmg, not more, not less. Also 4p tier set bonus have 0 value in pvp.
shouldn’t all classes receive compensation for the damage lost?
wouldn’t we just end up in the same situation?
But other classes are not all about one spell that has 100% crit chance. I mean compensate only lava burst, no lightning bolt crtis, no eartshock crits etc.
you do realise your class becomes stronger just for been a slower meta right because of the comps it works in your biggest counters will also be doing less damage inside stuns which is the only way to kill ele shamans.
some are. frost dk has oblit crits with killing machine, ret palas have a 100% crit chance hammer talent, fire mage is all about crits, that’s just off the top of my head.
Outlaw and destruction will suffer form it, especially outlaw has it’s garbage tier currently.
But I guess they will up the dmg for spec that use crit mechanic
Ye but how often you do lava burst and how often you have killing machine, hammer or combustion. Iam just worried this can hurst ele too mutch, but we will see when it goes live Also 4p tier set bonus have zero value in pvp, this is maybe possibility how to bake some lava burst dmg increase to that tier bonus.
Think about every meta class currently they all deal damage with crits even arms warrior the only specs this will be a huge buff to is affliction warlocks/unholy dk/ demo lock/ as all their damage is small numbers which dont rely on crit.
Which if you didnt know affliction and demo getting buffs is a buff for ele.
Even though its off meta , surely DH crit Chaos strike will also suffer?
lets just wait and see how it plays out
It will have impact on many classes, Arms Warr included.
Basically these changes will happen then we are gonna beta test it for a few months, then they’ll make some new changes, this cycle will continue until next expansion on and on.
I expect furry warriors to be stronger, I started to arena as furry warrior during BfA, it was 150% back then. As a noob I could reach 1.8 without proper gameplay knowledge and probably no BiS items. It will be 150% again so once again Rise of Furries uWu.
If your class becomes too weak it will just get damage increase buffs, dw.
I don’t think that Arms would suffer that much. Before SL when Crit Damage was increased they went Haste - not Crit and more Rend focused builds. The gameplay actually feels nicer then as you have less downtime in your damage rotation, faster globals etc.
Probably not going to happen in 10.1 due to set bonus but I can see it being a thing in 10.2 or any other patch with different set.
Yea it was bleed meta for arms warriors, we were like B / C tier but back then we were not so mobile and Demonhunters had perma dodge via Blade Dance so they made every melee almost useless (lol).
If set bonus is trash maybe next patch yes but they have good dps and healing, we will see.enhance shaman also could’ve been meta with good self healing but they’ve already nerfed it as far as I know.
And pretty much every arms war found it boring to be a bleed bot.
While having haste does feel nice, if it ends up meaning Arms becomes bleed bot once more, it does not feel nicer, not one bit.
The difference is that Mastery works a little bit different since SL. Unless they nerf it then it looks good and definetely promotes Crit.
As above early SL Arms warriors were playing Haste until Condemn overtake and then they also went Crit on Kyrian due to lego. But last s2 some wars were also playing Haste Necro with Kyrian Feral in Kittycleave. It actually felt very nice. My friend played it and liked it more than Kyrian Crit.
Not necessarily. They changed Mastery for arms before SL (if I remember correcty). In BFA it only increased Deep Wounds damage. Since SL it also buffs damage on the target that has Deep Wounds on it so Versa>Haste>Mastery might actually feel good.
Haste makes Arms feel more smooth and increases Rage generation due to more frequent meele swings so you will have less downtime on your buttons.
I wouldn’t be so pesimistic. I’m sure it will feel different than BFA.
I wasn’t speaking of SL or during, my entire post was infact directed at the bleed focus before SL offered different builds, I thought that was rather evident.
While that’s true, rage isn’t much of an issue for Arms currently, and it likely wont be in the future either with how they’ve been designed for DF pvp.
I’ll always be pessimistic when it comes to blizzard, but willing to give them credit when they deserve it
But that’s irrelevant then because Arms Mastery is different and even if you play Haste you won’t be a Bleed bot like in pre-SL. I thought that’s logic that if something got changed in SL then playing post-SL even though with the same stat will be different than playing pre-SL with the same stat. It might also benefit Thunderous Roar build.
Well yes but Haste also reduces CD of Mortal Strike for example so as I said it’s more smooth + you have shorted GCD.
It isn’t, when the point I answered to was your response about warrior before SL and how they went rend builds (which not many liked), that was my entire post, I’m not sure how that went past you.
Logic would be reading what you’re answering to, and not trying to direct it to something it wasn’t about IMO, but I digress.
Until it’s been played out, I’ll be on the edge, we saw how they messed up the ret rework and how little they’re doing to fix it, no gurantees on anything with their balancing.
It is irrelevant because pre-SL Mastery was different and in SL they changed it + you have different talents so it’s irrelevant
if anything the ret rework has been their most successful project ever
have you ever seen so much pink in your career?
