PvP hit cap

So excluding racials etc the hit cap in PvP is 5% but you will always have that 1% chance of resists no matter what. So is the PvP hit cap actually 4% since you have 1% chance of missing whether you have 4% or 5% hit?

its more like with 4%, chance to resist will be 2%

How can you have 2% to be resisted when you have 99% chance to hit your tagret? Do you see my point?

5% hit cap means you always hit but there is always 1% resist. With 4% your chance to hit is not 100% (dunno what chance it is) and when you hit there is 1% to resist.

There is no “you always hit” with offensive spells, no matter your hit chance and no matter the target’s level. You always have a minimum 1% chance of missing (which shows as “Resist” because we’re going with confusing messages until like, Cataclysm). To say you can have a 100% chance to hit but a 1% chance to get resisted is completely false.

Yes OP - if there’s a 5% default chance of missing against players you should get 4% hit for PvP.
