Pvp in wow

no, we don’t need aditional mounts for arena / bg brakets, it is already extremely hard to obtain glad mount for casual pvp-err, even for good pvp-ers is a really hard reward to obtain.

maybe if the rewards are obtained when you reach1800 rating yea, but 2400 and 50 wins on top is already too much… since you compete with boosters, mmr droppers and all sorts of shenanigans, besides very unbalanced gameplay.

just let it die, almost noone cares or revamp the whole system with a universal rating for all brakets and give people a actual way to get to the rewards.

but besides the above problems mentioned the one thing that actually stop people to play rated pvp in wow is the fact that you lose rating and you have a bad couple of matches, internal rating system mmr, just puts you in losing teams and it can feel like a trap that you can’t escape

I don’t know why they have to ruin everything.

Bg’s gave honor and marks. Arena gave conquest and rating.
Honor bought you honor gear.
Marks bought you mounts and tabards.
Conquest bought you conquest gear.
Rating unlocked conquest shoulders, weapons and prestige.

It was simple, it was fun and you didn’t have to hunt rating, it just gave you a little something to strive for.

at this point i think they just dont even care anymore.
each time that i really wanted to do some pvp all i saw was Premades vs random people in bgs.
or boosters in arena.
its so weird that they dont even care about this much topics and complain about this big problem in bgs and pvp.

they didnt even bring a new item or tool to dismount enemy players in world map. like the previous expansions

since we are in the era of renown track, i belive one should apply for rated pvp too. Coming back to the idea of a universal rating across all brakets with manageble farmable renown seasonal track, but way easier to get than now.

since blizzard wants to timegame rated pvp with mmr cap, they could also add a check point system, for example 1600 rating 1800 - 2000 - 2200 - 2400 - 2700 and when you reach it, you won’t be able to lose the rating bellow it.

I completely agree!

P.S. Denny, you have a very beautiful transmog, you look stylish :smirk:

I would be curious to see how that would work out. It wouldn’t fix the whole booster problem, but at least it wouldn’t be as demoralising when dropping in rating due to such things.

I mean…
It used to be a title given only to the top 0,5% of the ladder.

Being hard to obtain is kind of the whole point here.

It is a dumb point. It was always a dumb point.

I disagree. It’s fine, healthy even, for a competitive game mode to properly reward its most achieving participants.
WoW arena is one of the most difficult competitive PvP games out there. You need to understand and master hundreds of spells, mechanics, interactions, and to master positioning, all while tracking the CDs of 6 different players all at once.
As far as complexity is concerned, I would argue that WoW is on par with StarCraft II.

However, I do agree that Blizzard are making a mistake by only rewarding high level players.
I actually made a very high quality thread about this. Feel free to like it:

Who are the same participants. Every time.

It’s dumb.

Well yes, top players remain top players.
If participation increases however, new top players will also arise.
Participation needs to increase, and for that, the game needs to give casual/terrible players decent rewards to chase after.

I seem to notice you didn’t like the high quality thread I just linked. Would you mind explaining why, and apologizing for it?

Besides Counter Strike, no game has ever managed to steadily achieve this.
It is dumb to build a system – in an MMORPG of all places – around an assumption that is detached from reality.

Dumb.

The potential is here. We can do this. I just need to be hired by Blizzard to fix their game and make the obvious decisions that somehow still haven’t crossed their minds.
Just give me all the power and be amazed by the outcome.

Speaking of this, I just made another very high quality thread but nobody’s going to read it because it’s not bait but instead a serious discussion about the game.
Please don’t let me down.

If WoW PvP is the Titanic, then like the Titanic, it already sank ages ago.

Being the former resident PvP MVP (if you can believe that), there was probably a moment around Cataclysm - Mists of Pandaria where Blizzard had some aspirations for PvP and were somewhat receptible toward changes and improvements to further those aspirations.
And I remember having had a lot of discussions with a lot of PvPers on the forums back then.
And by and large those PvPers got it as they wanted it.
I am just here to say that it is dumb.

I know. There was a Holinka tweet where he compared PvP and PvE participation, both were similar in MoP. That’s also the era where all the big content creators were shining.
Then they just gave up. They destroyed everything, and they started ignoring PvP altogether.

I’m not sure why. It was working. Why forsake it?

There is likely no business case for investing resources into PvP that could otherwise be spent on Housing or Delves.

Like I said, there was a window of opportunity around Cataclysm - Mists of Pandaria, and the vocal PvP community at the time argued for a certain kind of design. And by and large they got what they argued in favor of.

And I don’t think there’s any return policy on PvP design.

It is what it now is. Dumb.

Absolutely disagree.
Legion destroyed duels (legendaries were enabled in PvP), removed PvP vendors (you had to wait for the end of the season to get your elite set if you didn’t RNG loot all the pieces individually), introduced templates (which I liked, but many didn’t apparently), introduced Demon Hunters and overall dumbed down class design so much there was no outplay potential left, leaving no room for good players to shine.
Straight up garbage decisions, my guild was disbanded right then and there, and none of them ever came back.

I’ll just use these:

These changes were desired by the vocal PvP community at the time. Blizzard put in the development effort to heed the prevalent player feedback at the time.

Fix shaman pvp talents please

How is dumb? You want to get rewarded for just nothing?
