PvP rank Decay

Hi,
Can some tell me if I put in a huge effort and got to High Warlord status. Would I lose the title and access to gear if I slowed down or stopped PvP for a while after.
It says Decay of 20% per week but I’m not sure what that means in RL. Would I have to play same amount of time even once I reach the rank.

You keep the gear forever once you have purchased it (in early days of Vanilla you had actually had to maintain your rank to equip them…).

However you will lose the title, unless you continue to run lots of BGs at Rank 14.

There have been stories of Rank 14 players who maintained High Warlord/Grand Marshal all throughout Vanilla or Classic, but it’s not for the faint.

If you transition your Classic character to TBC or WoTLK (not yet been confirmed if you can transfer characters at the end of SoM, but you probably will be), you have your highest earned title forever - from TBC onwards.

Before you start investing your time into the honor grind I would recommend familiarising with the system how it works.

Ask yourself this. Can you play for 15-18 hours every day for the next 8-12 weeks in a premade farming non stop AB/WSG? If the answers is no then don’t set your targets in getting rank 14.

I say 8-12 weeks because even though the minimum weeks to rank 14 is like 6 at br1. At this stage of the game you will need longer because there is a queue system in place for bracket 1 spots and you would most likely be sitting in BR3 to start with and then br2 & finally br1 when it’s your turn to get rank 14.

Its a long slow painful process that takes its toll on both your mental & physical well being. You could always casually play BGs to rank 10 though if you enjoy PvP and want the basic blue set. You could probably get rank 10 solo queueing for like 4/5 hours a day in maybe 3-4 weeks.

Or do what many are doing (only way to farm 150-200k honour a day, or 1mill+ honour a week) AFK a lot in AV, or share accounts

Honestly not worth it, no skill needed, just be unemployed, live on welfare and parents basement and live in WOW and you can get R14

Yeah I guess it’s possible to maybe get to like rank 12/13 doing AV non stop, but you would literally need to be in there like 24/7 to make the bracket caps and even then I’m not sure it’s even possible with the queue times for ally & the 99% lose rate for horde.

I guess a lot of these people are either account sharing or running AV bots though because it’s not physically possible to play that much AV for like 2+ months as a solo player.

Oh Kingsfall, we have many who are over rank12 doing just that. I see some with 1.5 mill honour from last week… Horde side, AV weekend, 4k honour for a 15 min loss, repeat it is not hard. Sadly this is the horde mentality. Quick losses, max honour for time.

I got to R10, than happy to stop by ranking up each bracket from 19. For me, wasnt a rush, and I actually enjoyed the PvPing.

Kingsfall Horde is not big and does boost the pool, so that makes it a bit easier to rank.
