PVP ranks - twinks

is there information what the max level twnks can get?

I believe Scrublord is the highest PVP rank available for twinks.

Belive it is sergeant for 10-19. and 1 rank for each tier.

I’d actually really enjoy having that rank.

So… how many twinks will there be? I was leveling my alt yesterday and noticed there are a lot 19 and 29 fully geared twinks already “practicing” in the world. And I was actually looking forward to some low level battlegrounds with my alts. But when I saw those people yesterday, I thought… will the low lvl BGs be composed solely by those people? I don´t mind one or two twinks per BG, but if most players will be twinks, then BGs will be just another activity to be skipped for casual players. From the very start. Which is so sad…

Lower lvl BG’s is the playground for people who can’t hack it at max lvl. So yeah you’ll se alot of twinks.

You can probably expect a large twink community.

Twinking is something that’s been utterly ruined in Retail, so a large portion of them simply moved over to Classic.

You should also consider that the modern classic base are much more min-maxed focused now than the old “level slowly and play inefficiently” crowd in the days of old; I wouldn’t expect to see many random geared newbies in battlegrounds any more.

People who cant hack it at max level just play rogue

Unless you have an equal amount of twinks on both teams, you may as well just /afk out and take the 15 mins deserter buff or you’ll just be gy farmed. Twinks don’t do the objectives. They just keep killing people over and over. Even if you all stop spawning and just wait in ghost form the twinks will stay in the middle of your gy until the end of the game. Low level pvp won’t be fun.

Oh that´s sad. They really should have implemented BGs right away as when people are equally geared, that´s the only time when PVP is actually fun as it requires a bit of skill.

Nevermind I will give it a shot and will see… in worse scenario the low lvl BGs will have the same fate as world PVP… twinks won´t have anyone to kill and BGs will die :frowning:

so what is the max rank for 30-39 bracket?

It’s not like it’s incredibly hard to gear a twink to a decent standard even if not fully bis so I wouldn’t say casuals will be left out.

19 will ve 100% twinkland and ou’ll probably see many of them in 29s too. From 30+ the normal levelers will imo be the majority.

Tbh twinking is actually very casual oriented: it is the only option to play another class than your main and I expect many people to do it after a few months of max level play. I’ll probably have a few in the 29 or 39 range (in 19 imo classes are gimped by not having enough skills available)

Doubt it, BGs will be twinks and decently geared alts vs twinks and decently geared alts. At least however, nobody will be able to say “lol twinks only want to kill noobs!”.

Also, world PVP is actually pretty good over here on Firemaw. We’ve had plenty of bigs groups of Horde and Alliance crashing into each other.

I’ve spent years messing around with multiple twinks, but this time around I’ve decided to give the 39 bracket a shot too.

I don´t agree. I played my lvl 19 hunter yesterday and met lvl 19 hunter twink. I am normally geared i.e. questing items. I was able to only bring him to about 80 %. He shot me for around 135 dmg (most crits). I usually shot him for 35 dmg. And I was lucky enough to get the nice green bow as a world drop. Most hunters won´t have it on this lvl.

Ofc I could go and buy most of the stuff from AH and it would be a bit better, but I usually don´t do that as the game becomes terribly boring. When you have the gear that basically makes you 5+ levels stronger, ofc the game becomes stupidly easy. So that´s why I tend to play my alts without ruining my experience by buying staff from AH. To me it´s cheating. Not cheating the game, but cheating myself.

P.S.: I don’t plan to make a twink this time as i am more than busy at 60.
This.

Classic is awesome fun but i as a player with a real life job i cannot see myself getting another char to 60. So twinking is a way to play other classes. My preferred brackets were 29 and 39. Tbh i had the most fun and interesting WSGs in the 29 bracket back in 2007 when a game could still take over an hour. And ofc there will be kill farming morons. But it’s not like at 60 you don’t have those.

I think what they mean is, it is relatively easy to create and gear up a low level twink - at least, compared to maxing out a level 60. So it’s more casual friendly.

Case in point, I have just made a twink and I’ve half geared it within 1 day thanks to Auction House. Whereas I have been playing for 300 hours so far on my main and not even level 60 yet (lvl 49)
So me as a casual player it’s easier to do a twink.

edit - as to your post below, I also would prefer it to be able to lock my XP and only fight against other people who’ve chosen to lock their XP.

That is true. I don´t like many things about retail, but splitting twinks and normal BGs was one of the best changes they made.

If people really play twinks just to play another class, I am sure they would be happy with the chance to play against people that are well geared as well.

If not, then it is apparent that they enjoy killing less geared people, because they are simply not good enough to kill similarly dressed people.

That´s what makes you feel good. Killing somebody At least that is how it works for me.

Ah yeah, you´re right, I can´t read…

I saw the word “casual” and thought they are talking about normal levelers. Because I am comparing levelers and twinks.

You are right that it is not that time consuming to gear a twink. But still I prefer playing low lvl BGs with normally geared chars than twinks as the game was obviously balanced for normally geared chars on that level. And sure… I am aware that using the word “balanced” is not very spot on, but still… the game is definitelly more balanced for casuals than twinks.

Yes, but the problem was that the twink brackets died down quickly because there weren’t that many active twinks after all. In my experience back then you usually had 2-3 twinks per bg, 5 or6 at the most. That’s not enough to keep their own bracket going. But it’s ok, by then (after WotLK) WoW became much more casual friendly and it was no problem to get a char into endgame to participate in bgs.

P.S.: Players in heirlooms with enchants and all were allowed to play in normal bgs and they were not much different than twinks in terms of power.

I think most people were playing twinks because they enjoyed being stronger. And when they were forced playing against other twinks, they simply stopped playing as it no longer made sense. They invested a lot of golds and they are no longer PVP Gods!

With cross-realms I am sure there were many twinks around and they would keep BGs full. If most of them weren´t cowards…

And yeah… in contrast to the splitting BGs, adding heirlooms was actually one the worst decisions. It has not only destroyed low lvl BGs. It has completely destroyed the whole leveling experience. When I was leveling my paladin and we were able to 2-man the whole Scarlet Monastery while not even be on the recommended level for that dungeon, I quit WoW. It has become a joke at that point.

Heirlooms weren’t a problem imo, they were a symptom of the problem. The problem being that WoW is/was extremely boring when its your third, fourth, fifth time going through the leveling experience. Alternative leveling experiences, or maybe just built-in massive XP boosts, maybe that would have been better than heirlooms, idk.
