PvP Rating Adjustments

fix ur game wtf is that excuses u have all the time it was s2 exactly the same “there is no cap to mmr” why do they awc players stuck on 2,4 then? i dont think u dont even play ur own game

Just Remove Shuffle

Like you care when you pay for your rating anyway

‘I do not think that you do not play your own game’.

Christ.

A conquest cap of 550 is still too low and makes the game more boring. That’s like 4 games. Imagine if m+ players were told they could only get loot from 4 dungeons, after that they hit their cap and need to wait until next week.

If gearing is the “best it’s ever been” then why was pvp in SL way more active? Especially SL S1 when pvp gearing was “the worst” according to this forum yet had the highest pvp participation of all time.

I think it’s a major problem when many players don’t see any point in playing until the last month of a season.

And based on that logic, what are your reasons to play right now when the mmr doesn’t allow you to even dream of getting glad until a lot later into the season?

Already regretting that I pressed onto the hidden comment.

So you’re saying that in Dragonflight season 1 shuffle, nobody reached over 2500 rating, because there was no reason to?
Do I understand you correctly?

2 crafted pieces 1 vault piece and 1250 cap of the first week and world pvp gear epic is like 70% of your gear done first week, Just stop.

I’ve seen several of these comments. I just dont get how you have come to that conclusion that an inflation of MMR at this point is bad?

The player base are litterally disappearing (PvP).

Hopefully Blizzard don’t look into these arguments as this has to be the worst gate-keeping take.

Learning, improving, capping, testing different talent builds and playstyles, finding new compositions, learning new strategies.

I’m sorry, what? I’m confused. You said Gladiators should be Glad within the first 2 weeks. You don’t get Glad from solo shuffle…and you would be 2500 in 100 rounds just because of inflation… I don’t understand this response to the question why people SHOULD be Glad in the first 2 weeks, could you clarify?

That’s because you are in the weird spot of been able to obtain glad easy but not good enough to push r1 it’s always been like this they need to add rewards after glad or make it % based again.

But just because you can get glad fast does not mean the rest of the community can there has always been 4 types of players who get glad since arena came out.

  • People who have to farm all season and barely get glad.
  • people who get glad easy but have no interest to go for r1.
  • people who farm all season to get r1 sometimes they get it once per xpac.
  • people that are at the top of the ladder with minimal games every season and don’t even have to try for r1.

Problem is out of all the glad players the majority of them are not trying to play for r1 because glad is 2400 now you could have inflation as high as you want if glad was % based again as that was the reason for top players to keep playing.

They would also have to add rating deflation for not playing as that is what killed slands s1 they nerfed mmr after people got 3k and everyone just sat it for the rest of the season.

Ohh and the elite set should be for 2400 it really makes 0 sense elite and glad been the same rating.

There is no cap it’s just top players get mmr from other players and then sit with it at the top only playing with inflation or if someone manages to push past them again after they have farmed other players for mmr take shuffle for example if a person goes 6-0 and gets r1 for his spec and then just sits it for 2 weeks that mmr is just gone it’s why we need rating and mmr deflation for people who sit rating so they have to play but I guess it could just kill the ladder completely if the player base refuses to play untill the end of the season.

Yep I agree. The gap between Glad and r1 is too big, anybody that is remotely competent can get Gladiator. To push r1, you literally need to dedicate that period of your life to pushing for it, and it’s genuinely not worth it (in my opinion). I 100% agree there should be something added between glad and r1, because right now it is literally not worth your time to even bother playing further.

We had that, it was called 0.5% glad

Whatever they add between Gladiator and Rank 1 the player base will start getting entitled and will moan for whatever the reward is to be made easier. This is why Gladiator was turned in to a duelist achievement.

The best fix would be to actually revamp the way rating works because there is no bragging rights at the moment there should always be a static rating like in other games so you can try to beat your top experience but when you let people get 3.8 in one season and then 2.6 in the next the only thing left in that season is rewards.

The rating system should be 1500-4000 and when you get to the very top and want to go over 4000 you should lose more points than you win this would let the pros keep playing and win % would actually matter.

A 2000 rated player has the goal to actually achieve 2100 and it matters outside of that season.

Cos DF has huge deflation. I took a break in s2 and came back the last month…my mmr was 400 higher than beforemy break.

Why play when you meet top players at 1800. The rewards being rating fixed with deflation is super demoralising and dumb. It would be the equivalent of like making m+ go up by a few key levels a month so you cant do top keys til end of season. Or releasing the raid bosses monthly.

They also seem to balance like once per month and every bracket is balanced the same making actual balance basically impossible.

SL and parts of BFA were inflated which imo is just better. Pvers also did some pvp in SL.

I dont think so, gaining rewards later feels horrible when I play now.

I was just pointing out how out of touch you’re thinking players stop playing after reaching rewards. Rating is in its own reward as well, that’s what S1 demonstrated. Because you feel the progress.

When most ppl are stuck between 1900-2100, there is no feeling of progress.

Exactly. Imagine nobody beating raid boss (no world first) 2 months in.
And then imagine the suggestions being there:

  • well if you beat mythic last raid boss, you would stop playing so it’s good that you can’t beat it
  • it shows more skill that you cannot beat it
  • well maybe nobody should be able to beat it and at the next patch, you should get rewards based on how heatlh did your group take (damage) from last boss

the reality is simplier: best players should have easy time to earn rewards, other players should have easy-hard time (depending to reward) earning it, but it should still be earnable for majority of players

it’s earnable for nobody still 2 months in, no gladiators

This is 100% blizz fault with the rating, they added artificial inflation at some point
Also a tad the fault of the gladiators, rank1 ,high rated people and streamers that constantly kept wanting blizzard to lower rating and inflation to stop “casuals” from getting their hands on their precious rewards and ratings over 2.1k or whatever they always moan about
It is the dads and moms, addicts and lifetime players that keep this game running and not the rank 1s and gladiators
If they kept extremely high rating +3k in game, we would never have had this problem
People could achieve the 1,8k sets at a good rate and most “casuals” I talked to were just rotating alts to farm the sets and just a great and chill time
I do the same thing and always just push to 1.8k to get sets but the game has become so sweaty its maddening
I just want to chill when i log on after a long day at work and at home taking care of the wife and kids but it is just not worth it right now
This game is not gaining new players and they should really begin to appreciate the costumers they have left
Soon there will be none left and only the glads and rank 1s to fight over the scraps
