It’s because actualy players create Horde chars as soon as the faction is open, then bots create Alliance chars while that is open, then again players on Horde, bots on Alliance etc. So while the number of players is technically equal, actual number of active human players in each zone and layer is heavily in Horde favour. Because what fool would play Alli on Vanilla PvP sevrver? 1.13 Horde has massive advantage both in PvP and PvE, it’s a well known fact for anyone who spends 5 min googling “what faction to play in WoW Classic”.

maybe it’s just the layer you’re in
yersterday there were multiple groups of lvl 50+ alliance players clearing most horde packed zones (mid - high level) for 5+ hours, and there was almost no opposition
sometimes you find yourself on a horde dominated layer, other times on an ally dominated layer, and rarely something inbetween
and yes, I would argue that we’re currently balanced horde x ally population-wise
yes the layers may cause this, i hate to say that layering kills world pvp. i hope blizzard can create a solution for this

we’re long past the “solution phase”, the only good solution would be multiple servers with a population balancing system between the servers (plus the current faction balancing system), and you can pretty much imagine the backlash, either because they only have 4k - 5k players in each server instead of 50k, or maybe groups of friends get separated thanks to the systems in place
either way, I can’t really think of a solution for this, with our megaserver it’s either unplayable zones with hundreds of people, no one doing any meaningful questing or farming, or 10 layers and people layer hopping as soon as 3+ people appear on their spot
Honestly, I wish they either made layer jumping easier or… I don’t know, it’s just so annoying to ask my guildmates every 10 - 20 mins to “inv layer switch -(current layer), please”
Holidays, new year, no GDKP will drop the population and it should settle down. By how much is to be seen.

Yeah, because I do what I like, not what’s optimal. Bit there is a not-insignificant amount of players who do indeed do what is optimal. And hence why Horde is overall dominant on most if not all vanilla releases. Many private servers even do special advantages like bonus xp and drops so that anyone would roll alliance at all.
No arguments or rebuttals, just empty platitudes and low brow insults.
