PvPer/Guildie just got suspended

A guildie that’s trying to rank up to 14, which is rank 12 atm, and just been sticking to a strict sleeping schedule doing the pvp grind as intended just got suspended for 8 days now. his Offense: “PvP Non-Participation/Exploitation” apparently, he has mostly been doing AV and inbetween done world pvp in EPL.
He’s definitely an eager pvper just trying his best to rank up in a fiercely competitive pvp scene on one of the bigger realms in EU. The guy gets along with everyone and even helped out our dualwield tank by giving away a Quel’serrar book when they were worth 750g on my realm.
This guy doesn’t deserve to be suspended dunno what to say, maybe some of you could enlighten me what might be different causes for this happening to him out of the blue?

Maybe Blizz felt pity for him and thought an 8 day ban might give him a chance to get a life.

I don’t know the case anb i hope it wasn’t an unreasonable suspension.
From what you wrote it seems he was reported for leaching. I play Alliance and there are players that stay mounted behind the fight without doing anyrhink and take credit for hk. I have seen Horde players that might do same think but i can be certain. It’s worse than afk in cave in my opinion.

Sure buddy your friend got suspended for 8 days for absolutely no reason.

maybe you could explain what PvP Non-Participation/Exploitation means then?

that means he was afk leeching during multiple AV games.

Which word are you having difficulty with? PVP, non participation or explotation.

Because of how competitive the pvp scene is at the moment the occational afks in AVs are just unavoidable. They have to actively farm honor for such an extended time that not taking breaks/making food is just not possible unless you are superhuman or on drugs. Banning people for being afk from time to time would just make rank 14 next to unachieveable.

I mean the dude has been competing against botters since the start of bgs.

Sadly for your friend, AFKing in BG isn’t allowed, so it’s a well deserved ban.

We get the players that never seem to dismount Horde side too. It actually seems to be happening more often now than it did a while back. I would encourage players both sides to ensure they target anyone on the opposite faction who seems to be doing this so they get dumped back to a GY before the HKs come rolling in.

Unfortunately it seems like he was afk’ing in some of his games which is something blizzard are enforcing now.

I can’t say he doesn’t deserve it, because it takes multiple reports to happen across many games.

Also, sticking to strict sleep schedule… oof I think your buddy needs some time off really…

Helping people is an excuse to do whatever i want ? I dont think so.
I dont understand this whole logic.
He was afking, he gets banned.

These 8 days will definitely help. sleep schedule … kek

Means the guy is literally AFK in Battleground not playing, but just comming to his computer every 3min to press spacebar.

So you are telling me your friend could not be arsd going to get food or go to the toilet in between his 20 - 45 MINUTE QUEUES but decided to do it in the AV’s he played instead?

Just no, he AFK’d deliberately for an extended period of time over and over to get this ban, he is selling you a pack of lies to not look like an idiot.

Meanwhile the bot clusters that print gold in stratholme are still going strong, same goes for the azshara gold pearl diggers. Blizzard shows their priorities again.
And don’t get started on ban waves as they solve absolutely nothing.
They prove by this that they still can actively monitor “players”, well go get the real baddies.
Absolute shell of a company!

So according to OP, a hardcore ranker, should be allowed to underperform (or even AFK) in a BG, and be one if the reasons for 39 players to lose that game?
No sympathy for your friend. If anything, Blizzard should ban AFKers for more than 8 days.
I wish ranking was dependable on your win/lose ratio and not pure farming. So it actually meant something.

If he think he is innocent, then he can appeal.

But he surely leeched a lot of games and the ban is deserved.

It’s against the rules to be inactive in BGs. People are staring to get suspensions for it now. This is a good thing.

This is a HUGE problem Alliance Side b/c of the instant queues and not so much horde side because of longer queues.

Yesterday I’ve had several AV games where there were Rank 9+ HK leechers using the Nostalrius AFK system wherein they would stay mounted a few meters behind the line of the melee and leech HK’s. If attacked they would run away. They never participated at all.

We have had like 6 or 7 of these Rank 9+ leechers. I right-click reported most of them but still it is annoying because you have to stop playing, find the leecher, right click on their portrait, select report for cheating and then type in AV AFK BOT or similar.

Takes time during which my toon isn’t contributing either because I have to report all the bots and leechers.

Imagine an AV game where you have 6 or 7 of these AFK leechers doin their thing. It’s impossible for Alliance to win or even get our honor quota met.

I didn’t expect this much negativity, but I guess proper leechers is a problem. I got no idea if my guildie falls under that category, but I have a feeling he doesn’t. I also think a lot of people don’t understand the amount of effort you have to put in to get to rank 14. So this is a multiple sided problem I guess, from my own experience I haven’t lost AVs due to afkers but you guys seem genuinly upset about it so I’m guessing things have gotten worse since I did the rep grind, when the alliance premades was the big issue.
